This thread is better than cake. I logged-off, and re-logged as my Jita alt just to **** off Rambo, our op.
Clowned by some carebears, LOL. Hey Rambo, they might've lost some isk in the end, but it was worth it! If you keep this up, maybe someone will be inspired to take up a collection for them. |

Checked out Murezor's losses on BC. Found this gem of a comment from him on a Lossmail of his (Hurricane vs. Myrmidon)

I can't believe this thread is still going, lol. Best whine thread ever!
Murezor sent me a private message a few weeks back saying if I ever visit Greece I should look him up so he can beat me up IRL, I've always wanted to visit Greece

Yeah, the dual reps on a boat with armor rep bonus seems to have thrown him a curve ball too.
Sadly, I haven't seen Murezor online since that day.

Edited by: Quintus Antonius on 11/12/2009 23:55:03 This all makes sense given my perspective.. I've played a fair bit of WoW before coming to Eve.. there was a class of player.. which seems to fit this profile:
physical age: younger effective mental age: between 10 and 15. Insecure about abilities and a strong desire to prove themselves (typical of folks at this age range).
For them, everything in WoW revolved around dueling, and proving who was better. Many of them were good, but many of them were looking for sneaky advantages also.. it was all about epeen, since it was all about proving themselves, at any cost. I can't begin to tell you how many duel requests I received from folks like this, when I was literally passing through to do something different. And it was never just one request.. but typically serial requests.. The OP is true to form for this profile.. even to how he claims things were instantly rigged against him by those miners.
The OP has missed one detail.. adults don't play fair, they play to win.. and when they can arrange for uneven circumstances due to misdirection and other factors, you deserve what you get if you aren't watching for this very strategy. Most adults I know couldn't care less about dueling.. other than maybe as something to do amongst friends to test things.. real war is about winning the fight, preferably by outnumbering/overpowering/outthinking a stupid opponent.
OP thinks like a kid regarding fighting.. ergo...
When I PvE, I like it to be difficult, so there is risk.. since I learn the most. When I PvP, winning is the goal, and outnumbering/outthinking/overpowering is the tactic of choice.. and knowledge + scouting + misdirection are the keys to winning.

Edited by: Mara Tessidar on 12/12/2009 00:40:02 Edit: I like monkeys. And large ISK donations for the very-not-suspicious EVE charity I run. You're surprised that a guy went and got his friends after you stole his stuff? You're surprised that he would lie to kill you after you stole his stuff? You're surprised that you warped to a moon that you had scanned and there was a POS there? Wow. Please come flip my can, I don't have enough expensive kills to my name yet.
In short, you're a pirate and thief, and you deserve what you get. And you've got to be stupid to imagine that anyone who lives in null or high sec will pity you or give you a chance.
Man, I enjoy other peoples' stupidity sometimes.

This thread gave me a really good laugh.
To the OP: Now, I haven't been playing EVE for very long. (A few months) So, with my limited amount of SP and experience I have done very little PvP. So, please, don't take this as the advice of some 1337 PvPer' who's trying to tell you how to play, 'cause i'm not.
My only advice is that from what little I have gathered of other EVE players in the few months I have been playing, whining is not respected. EVE is harsh world with a rather steep learning curve, which makes it awesome. When you make mistakes, instead of blaming the other people for using "unfair" tactics or being derisive toward other people's KBs because they like to fight in gangs, perhaps you should take a look at what you did that got you killed and learn from your mistakes.
Next time, instead of coming onto forums to whine, which no one appreciates. Try asking for advice on ship fits, or tactics, and acknowledge any mistakes that you made in an encounter. Be humble and grateful and people will be much more likely to help you instead of making fun of you and calling you a "Phail".
