I play EVE on my 32 inch LCD tv and find it distressing that the maximum text size for the menus is only 12 pt font. Is there a way to increase that? Also, I have not beem able to figure out if that setting controls the text for items as well.
Another thing is that on a widescreen display, the vertical dimensions of the screen are often shorter than standard monitors. It would be useful if we could create "folders" for the sidebar buttons to group them for shorter displays.
Being able to control the size of the item icons would be helpful as well.
I realize that this isn't as "important" as some other ideas like whether or not we should punish people for logging out or anything, but as we already can set text size but it only goes up to 12 pt, I think this would be a very simple and easy change to make to the client.

May I ask you what's your native screen resolution of your lcd?
for example, I play eve using 1920x1080 on my 23" lcd (it's native resolution) and I do not have any problems with the fonts.
About widescreens: eve client supports only resolutions >= 1024x768, it wont go below those values, hence I really do not know what's your problem, unless, you are using s-video output 
Give us more info about your lcd tv (model etc) and how it's connected to the video adapter.

Im using a 24''TFT with 1920 x 1200 and eves' font is far too small!
