Edited by: Patrice Macmahon on 19/09/2009 02:48:26 It is mission running or ratting? I havent been able to search up a good thread on the sucurity status topic, but basically I podded someone in high sec (for griefing a defenseless miner buddy of mine) and now I want to get my sec status back into respectable areas.

Null sec ratting. Missions and plexes are hit and miss with security gains. The reason is that although all npc pirates *should* give sec increases, often this does not happen due to some bugs in the system. The only 100% reliable way I know of is belt ratting. You do not need to be in a null sec alliance to go ratting out there. Every null sec alliance I've come across (all of them I think) is 99% p*ssy so just go out there in a t1 cruiser and rat your way up. That said you should fit a t1 cloak and go cheap for both ship and clone. I'd do a straight t2 fitted gunboat cruiser with a cloak and mwd. That should keep you alive long enough to get your sec up as high as you want and you will probably make it out if you fly smart. Your main concern is not the guys in the alliance with sov, it's the pirates that prey on them. -----------------------------------------------------

0.0 ratting all the way.
Like was said, not all missions agains pirate NPCs give sec status.
The biggest difference is the way the sec status updates work. They update every 15 minutes or with a session change. So lets say you take 30 minutes to run an L4 with lots of BSs. You may not get any sec upgrade at all. If you do, you get an update for the biggest bounty rat you kill in each 15 minutes.
Now lets say you are ratting in 0.0. You blow up one BS, and then go to another system. You get an sec update because you changed sessions. Rat a BS, change systems. Rat a BS, change systems. Lather rinse repeat and you are on your way to posative sec status in no time.

Find an entry system point into 0.0 space with no lowsec in between, Kari is one, leads to CVA space who allow neutrals to enter
