why is it that enemies of a race are still able to dock at their stations?? i mean with player owned outposts we can restrict who can dock at our stations why dont the major powers do the same???i mean someone with a sec status lower than -5 shouldnt be allowed to dock at a concord station and ppl with "bad" amarr standings shouldnt be allowed into amarr stations. it could be played with alot allowing certain stations in low sec 0.0 to become havens for pirates where the stations are run by "disreputable" npcs that do allow "pirates" to enter. also why arent there any navy patrols into their lowsec?? i can unerstand concord not going there but the empires own there areas surly they would patrol and defend them .

You want to shut off huge swathes of Empire to players? Hardly conducive to enjoyment.

Not everyone who has poor standings with one empire wants to be a pirate.

Same reason as in real life - lack of resources.

Something I've wondered about as well. At the very least, I would expect the Navy stations to be a little restrictive of who uses their facilities. However, not all stations within a Faction's space should be kicking out people they don't like. Some corporations by their very nature are willing to trade with whomever is willing to do business with them.
I think the biggest problem one would encounter if an attempt to implement this into the game would be a lack of stations in hi-sec. Just to make things acceptable for the current hi-sec crowd, we could be talking about 50% more stations...which is a huge amount. And this would go against the "sandbox" ideas of EvE, forcing players to either be on the good side of factions to keep access to their stations, or to make players that have been living in certain stations leave them because they ticked off the station's owners?
Here's an interrim suggestion: How about you would be permitted to dock and keep an office in the station, but the station's facilities would not be available to you if your standings with the owners are bad? |

Before any restrictions such as the OP described could even be considered, a reasonable method to allow a character to improve their standings with NPC factions must be implemented. Plenty of noobs were unaware that faction missions can really screw up standings and didn't notice until they were already -5... hopefully before trying to fly a slow ship through unfriendly space. |

And that is the only valid reason to counter the OP proposal.
But a gradual ban from docking could be in order anyway. So let say if you got a standing of -5 to the npc corp you can't dock at any of their stations in high-sec. With only a -2 that is only stations in systems with a 0.8 or higher security rating.
Also something similar should go for agents, so an agent in low sec with poor quality should hand out a mission to a player with lower standings. The harder your standing is screwed the harder it should be to bring it back up. ---------------------------------- None of yet! |

Not being able to dock is no good. Instead, I'd charge a docking fee, and/or increase cost of station service.
Money sanitizes everything. |
