Basic, T1 no-meta items are no longer needed. These modules serve no useful purpose. It's time they get removed from the DB.
Also do we need 4 different varieties of every meta item? Look at how messy the ENAMS & resistance plating are, compared to shield resisters / hardeners.
Do any of you peeps out there even use these items: E-type, Alpha Hull Mod, Marked Modified, Basic, Dual-sheathed, Triple-sheathed, Titanium/Nanofibre plate?
No you don't. Because to do so is fail. Nor does there exist much money making potential in the market for these items.
We really only need T1, T1 meta, and T2 for mid and low slots modules (excluding reppers, SPRs, boosters), but one could argue successfully against that.

They do still get used, but I agree not much outside wardecs/faction warfare. The reason they are not used much is because...
1. T2 is dirt cheap now. 2. T1 meta is dirt cheap (Barring some popular top end ones.) thanks to mission runners being in vast surplus.
To note, I do still make profit from some T1 by selling to faction warfare in lowsec, and also using it to make T2.

My last post maybe wasn't too clear. Sorry
Some of the 'named' items, are attributed to being T1, but have no meta level. I'm not talking about the T1 items that you build from blueprints, i'm talking about all those useless items you see on the market. Here's some examples from the Reactor Control item group.
Alpha Reactor Control: Reaction Control Basic Reactor Control Unit Partial Power Plant Manager: Reaction Control Type-E Power Core Modification Reaction Control Marked Generator Refitting: Reaction Control
These items boost power grid by 5%
Most of these prefixed items (in other groups) have half the effect than that of the T1 items made by blueprints.
According to market history, over the course of 3 mos, only 10-15 of these items are moving in the market, and probably to noobs that don't know that thier buying CRAP.

Basic Reactor Control fitting - 10 cpu bonus - 5% pg skills - Energy Grid Upgrades I
Reactor Control Unit I fitting - 20 cpu bonus - 10% pg skills - Energy Grid Upgrades II
So you're complaining because there's a module that provides only half the bonus but also only has half the fitting requirements and not as many pre-reqs? I've fitted a basic module before because I didn't have the fitting resources to fit a T1, but still got some benefit out of it. I don't see the problem here. Also as far as money making potential goes, have you seen the price on some of these basic items? They're more than the t2 variant for precisely the reason I gave, lower fitting requirements while still getting some benefit.

Those items cannot be produced in any way and are never dropped anymore.
They're collectors stuff and their value goes up everyday. Don't forget that people paid for those items (you don't seem to know how much they're (were) worth, so your idea to remove them just can't work.
I agree that they should be removed from the market menu and only available through contracts.

as already mentioned the reason they are still around is that they don't require a skill the standard t1s need, or not as high of a skill. you'd be surprised at how much people are willing to dish out for a poor module simply because they don't wanna spend the time to train up a skill or two.
