I often come across the typical ratting raven or drake out in 0.0 on my solo roams. I'm hesitant to engage them in my Ishkur, of course.
But if I bring a Thorax the next time, what kind of fit should I be looking at in order to break their tank in the relatively short window of opportunity you get.
Does it have to be an all-out dps, tripple magstab fit to really work?
I feel a bit leery flying solo in an honor tanked cruiser.

the thing is, for example drakes, they get boost to kinetic dmg. and therefore theyr more drakes in guerista space
well you know prolly what i mean. anyway, the thing is that hybrid weapons will do kinetic and heat dmg and theyl prolly got nice resists for them..
i kill drakes and ravens fairly easy solo in most cases, since i can do 100% em dmg with my solo ship.
and in most cases they dont got em resist.
but if your gonna kill drakes or ravens, id go with vexor and em drones.

Well, sure. But how about if we lower the price tag a bit. What's an affordable anti-ratter setup for T1 cruisers.
I'm gonna try the idea of running EM-only drones on a vexor to screw with the resists.

Why would you be hesitant to kill a Raven in your ishkur? It's GREAT for it as you can mostly choose your damage type and with the AB changes you can speed tank a Raven till the server shuts down.
1) buy some iskhurs now if they're not stupidly priced already
2) wait for AF AB changes
3) figure out which damage types the rats do in your hunting area
4) realise where the resist gap is on those Ravens and use the appropriate drones
5) use an AB+SAR+nos fit (to keep tanking the minimal torp/cruise damage) and take out their drones first
6) combined damage from the rats + yours = dead Raven
7) ...
8) profit!
Would you use a Thorax then it all depends; if those Ravens will be tanking your damage type (guristas or similar) then use infiltrators, if they don't tank your kin/therm use ECM drones. I'd go for the trusted 1600/heavy electron combo.

why hesistant? I'v killed drakes in my taranis so ishkur should not have any problems either. sure a proper nbertanked 3-3 drake will be impossible, but most fits are not optimal. just kill his drones first.

They were stupidly priced minutes after the info leak.
A solo ishkur can already tank cruise/torps as long as they're not neuted or webbed until downtime.
A gank fit raven will do somewhere in the neighborhood of 10-20 DPS against an afterburning ishkur.
The only problems are their drones and breaking their tank. They'll kill you and FAST if you don't get on them.
Here's a fit I was toying with about a month ago. And it does just 232 on-paper-dps with my skills. Luckily I bought the plex AB & rep months ago:

Yeah you are right, that is unrealistic. A 0.0 Raven pilot would be stupid to not have a target painter and a neut or two on there. Fortunatly there are plenty of stupid ones out there.
When you do fight the Raven you will want to kill his light drones as those are the first threat to you, once those are dead then you can focus on hurting him.
Of course the easiest way to kill a Raven is to neut him. Most Ravens are not cap peram tanks, or if they are they run a fine line between cap stable and no cap at all.

as long as you kill his small drones fast and have a nosferatu, you should be good even if he has dual heavy neuts he'll just help you cap himself out faster.

Heavy neut doesn't affect a frigate much due to cycle time if you have a nos unless you're frantically running mods, but that's not needed against a Raven.

QFT.
Cycle time on a heavy neut is 24 seconds barring any talisman implants.
Cycle time on a small nos is 3 seconds.
At worst, your mods will be sputtering and cutting out once every 24 seconds for a maximum of about 3-5 seconds. That's the beauty of NOS. If he has enough cap to neut you completely dry you will - by definition - steal some back with a nos.
Basically, NOS as it stands is the ideal counter to a neut, but since it's not viewed as an offensive weapon, no one uses it except to support their cap unstable setup.

Fine , You want Cheap? Do it right, 800 dps Gan brutix, same price as Af, INSURABLE and More dps. More than double, Also more cargobay for the loot.
