Why don't you simply disallow connections from china? It's not that hard to rid yourself of the isk farmers/sellers if you took a hard stance instead of pansy footing around about it. That was whois information I posted. Something anyone can get simply by typing those names into http://www.networksolutions.com/whois/index.jsp. Nothing hard there. CCP could end the isk spam and farming in one fell swoop simply by banning all connections from china. and for the dumb **** that said proxy servers in the previous thread. Simply instruct the client to do a simple IP check. Those brilliant minds at CCP sure should be able to figure a way to instruct their client to to tell them where it is. Exactly. I don't feel anything from what you are referring to (economical damage patati patata...). So you are either really bad at playing Eve and need to blame someone for it (in this case the isk farmers) or you are taking this game way too seriously... If CCP really wanted to do something about it then trust me they will. Until then, try to ignore this (it really isn't that hard) and ENJOY playing the game. Over and out.

Its also innafective in the fact that there are many ways to circumvent your "simple IP check" And in the event that all Chinese players were removed from EvE do you not find it likely that players from other countries will just fill the void. Of course if your plan does work im sure you will be hailed as being smarterer than any other MMORPG player because nobody will ever have thought of this before. Does this give you a rough image of how silly this idea is?

Wouldn't look to good if they blocked IP's from the country would it. edit: to those implying that China isn't the only country with sweatshops, the huge majority of these operations are based out of the country, there's no getting around it.

I also have it set up to do a quick IP check against proxies. If a connection is from a known proxy or routed through a proxy it is refused. Takes a little work but it is possible. Being racist, no I am not, but China DOES has their own EVE server so I don't see any reason doing that would be a problem. Other games do this regularly. Yes it can be gotten around, with some effort. But saying it can't be done is pure rubbish. The client CAN be instructed to do a ping to the eve server and then send the eve server the information it gets returned. A little work. Not 100% foolproof but the idea isn't to make it fool proof, the idea is to make it hard to accomplish. No, he locked it because I had whois information that had the isk seller websites shown. Both sites were from China of course. How you managed to infer that I am bad at eve out of what I said baffles me, so I think your just trolling or trying to. I am just sick and tired of isk seller spam. Everywhere I go I see it day after day after day. They fly into JITA just to spam their crap.
