This is not a bucket full of tears post but i need to ask. What is the purpose of podding a person when they are just transiting a system in their pod? Trying to get somewhere , going to the store or just out for a stroll. Just Askin.

a fair statement, in low sec id argue sec status, as some people like me try to keep out sec above -2 so we can hi sec it aswell, but yeah for a full time pirate and/or null'sec'er if you can lock it, pop it :D

Fair enough question by the OP. I'm still scratching my head about the guy who got Concordokened shooting my pod as I auto-piloted to Jita once. (He didn't even pop me )

Tears! (and also keeping / getting to -10) There's nothing like tears about the +5 set you oh so casually popped.

1) They are just trying to help you get back to your home faster
2) Fur teh Lulz
3) cause EVE is full of sociopaths ---- a reply which adds nothing to a thread or results in a thread being bumped with no new discussion worthy content is considered spam and as such warrants a forum ban |

Mostly on the off chance that you had an implant set worth 3 billion and forgot to update your clone for the last several months.

Why do people fly around in their pods then cry about getting podded? Shuttles are cheap or get a cheap frigate

Some people take it as a personal affront that someone not in their corp would deign to play this game in the same system, let alone grid as them. It is your fault for not taking the correct actions to avoid these problems.

to answer your question. When your weapons fire on a vessel causing it to explode, you get a kill.

Edited by: guska Cryotank on 29/09/2009 12:14:45 Edited by: guska Cryotank on 29/09/2009 12:14:21 Well actually, I was suprised earlier tonight when after a few minutes of gate-jump games, my ratting myrm asploded (that wasn't the surprising part), I was then told that my pod would be allowed to pass unharmed. I hesitated for a bit, checked that my clone was up to date, and that I had a spare set of 'plants sitting on the table next to the clone vat, and went for it...slowly. There was no lock, no scram, nothing, just a "o/ Fly Safe" in local. Props to Free Worlds Alliance for following through with a promise, and for the most entertaining loss I have had in a long time.
http://eve.battleclinic.com/killboard/killmail.php?id=7874289 There were actually 5 or 6 people in on the kill, but because I had jumped through the gate, I guess only 1 got on the mail.
EDIT - Broken link

if you let one pod through, then you gotta let them all go through... next thing you know, they'll want to bring their ships through... and then they'll want to loiter, mine, rat and set up POSs...
