First sorry if this has been answered a million times, tried searching and could not find anything.
I'm an old beta tester of this game and desided to give it another go because my friend talked me into it. Right now I am playing using the free trial, having a great time. Much better then I remember (err it was beta after all lol)
anyway, I wanted to know if I buy this game from a retail store, will I be able to continue where I leave off in the trial? I'm one of those really weird people that wants to have the box and CD. I heard that in order to continue, I -have to- buy the online version. Please tell me it aint so =/

No idea, but just wanted to second the question, because I'm enjoying the trial too, and was wondering the same thing.

box == new key == new account and toons == start all over. (unless you want to pay to transfer the player to the new account)
Good luck finding the box btw, it was taken off the shelves about 9 months ago. Completly sold online now.

I've heard that other people have done that, for whatever reason. Theres no automatic way to set your current account up with a box CD key, but if you email CCP billing, they should get you set up.

I don't know which country you come from in the real world, but the game is still available from 'Game' shops throughout the UK.

This is just an update.
Given the situation, they were generous enough to transfer my trial character to my full (boxed CD) account for free.
Just make sure you email them first

I talked to a GM about something similar a fwe weeks ago and this came up from someone else. They asked him this exact question about trial accounts and regular subscriptions. The GM (Fate I believe was his name) said if you purchase an account all you need to do is file an "other" petition with your trial character giving the new account information (signon and stuff). They will transfer your trial account to the new account you've purchased at no charge.

From what I hear, CCP isn't accepting CD Keys from the boxes anymore. Not sure.
