Aelius	Posted - 2004.10.25 11:16:00 - [1] I just had an idea for you guys there on CCP. It regards POS and the ability to defend them. Even with defence modules a POS is very vunerable to attacks if no one is online to defend it. My idea is to create a special service, where for a montly fee, the player or corp would receive mobile phone messages saying "WARNING, Your POS in the system XPTO is under attack" So what do you say, do i deserve a cut on the profit? Selling Raven BPC ME20 3M at Yulai 1st Station

Its the huge assaults that will take them down and unless you can put out a massive call to arms. Its not going to work. IM would be the better idea but surely if you are asleep you wouldn't be watching the computer for a message arriving? Nice idea though getting an out of game alert to possible problems.

Jensia	Posted - 2004.10.25 13:02:00 - [23] theres a good reason for having a player base from all corners of the planet, so that when the main (european) player base decides to sleep (aprox 23 - 04 eve time) you have the reserve squad to hold the stations. hek i remember when cfs, had a refinay station in querious, and there must have been over 45 players all flying about the region holding off FA, and CA and the others. and then as soon as everyone in europe dozzed off the other countries who had plenty of time flew in and cleaned up. then it sort of bounced back and forth for a while, however TS was interesting listening that evening. As for the mobile alarm, no thanks, i'll just look in local when i log in and see if its busy.
