Let's just see how this old pyramid skillpoint scheme of a game stands up to the competitors coming down the pike, shall we?
I'll see you in those, where you can't have a 20+ Mil skillpoint advantage on me before I even hear of the game ;).
Then we'll talk about "knowing how to play the game".
I mean, I get it, you guys really get off on the skill-point pyramid aspect of EVE. Hand CCP $$$ for years at a time, and suddenly you are somebody in the game...
It's sad that you have to actually BUY your skills and feeling of superiority. It's bad enough when players who are ACTUALLY skilled boast about their gaming prowess.
Herein lies the worst of EVE.
Also, 60 million SP, assuming around a million per month is a hilarious amount of money you wasted on a single video game title so you could be "l33t" and have the "skills needed" to "enjoy" the game.
EVE may be a cool game, but it's not worth $500+ before you can play with the "big boys". That really is a scheme, guys.
Wake up.
You have the entirely wrong attitude.
At 7m SP I was an alliance battle-grunt but still having fun.
At 15m SP I was a lead FC in a 0.0 alliance, making a difference and killing people (as well as losing.)
At only 17m (and ~7m of those are useless in PVP) I founded my own mercenary corporation which has grown to over 60 members in 2 months. I am having more fun than ever and kill with regularity much older players. I'm not trying to say "I'm awesome and you're not," merely illustrating the point that SP matters little. Of course, these older players often kill me too! I have found the area of stealth combat to be very liberating in terms of putting me on even terms as I can pick my own fights.
I have recruited newbies less than a month old, and several of them are now competently flying Bombers and getting a lot of kills against older players while having fun. It's not the game, it's not the other players, the problem is you. Get some motivation, get an idea, and get out there and do something with it! SP have nothing to do with experience in this game. One of my trusted officers only has ~3m SP but he can competently play and has probably seen much more of the universe than you have and ever will.
Fix yourself. Then fix what you can by yourself. Then, and only then, whine. Proud to be shaych |
