I don't quite understand what I'm doing wrong on this mission. It's called Mercium Belt and it seems pretty simple. Mine 6000m3 of Mercium from a designated location. I used a survey scanner, mined it, brought it to the drop-off spot and got little green checks next to the amount needed and the place to take it. But it looks like mining is still incomplete and I can't figure out why since I have more than the amount I'm supposed to already. Could someone help?

Does the mission info say it is complete? There might be NPCs there you need to kill. -------------------------------- CCP can patch away bugs, but they can't patch away stupidity. |

No, I don't believe it's done. Here's a picture of the window I have:

Make sure you depelete all asteroids containing the ore at the location. According to this: EVE-Survival

When turning in a mission requiring a specific ammount of an item, Make sure your item stack has the exact same ammount as needed.
If you have a stack of 3001 bricks and the agent wants 3000 he will not accept untill you create a stack with just 3000.
Note: for those that don't know, hold down shift and left click on the stack to drag some off. you then get asked how many you want to take from the stack.

I have just looked at the pic you posted.
Quick question, and this may seem a little obvious (but everyone has done it)
Are you getting mixed up with the 6000 and 10000? Does your stack of Mercium have 10,000 units?

Very likely this.
Mining Missions have exactly the amount of ore they need to be completed. OP, since you said you've got more than needed already you must've mixed up numbers.
In case the mission went to status complete already just by beginning mining you'd be screwed right now since the ore won't be there anymore after downtime. In case its not marked complete it'll get reset at downtime so you can start over.

That's absolutely incorrect. At least for this mission.
I'm on the same mission as the OP and I'm having the same problem. I have already mined 11,547 UNITS of Mercium and still going at that damn asteroid. As far as I can tell, mining missions cannot be completed until all asteroids in the mission belt are depleted. Most times, they give you the exact amount you need for the mission, sure. But apparently they screwed up this one, putting more than necessary in the asteroid, and not letting you finish til you've gotten every last drop.
If I ever finish this stupid mission I'll update and let you know how much you need to mine before it will let you complete it. Chances are I'll just eat the standing hit if it's not soon, though.

Just did this mission 3 times, did not experience trouble with anything. You need to be sure that all the asteroids containing that ore are gone then go to the station.

Edit: Yeah ok I give up. Mined 12,635 and still no go on the mission complete. I tried making sure I had a stack of exactly 10k in dock, even destroyed all excess Mercium in dock and in my cargo bay. This mission is just screwed up.
You have a downtime during the mission? Think the asteroids get reset so you end up having to mine them all again

I had this exact problem with this mission. I think it was during the unexpected "elephant in the server room" DT during the alliance tournament. I was almost done, and they go and reset all the rocks on me. At least someone wanted all the excess ore I put up for contract.

This.
The mission is marked as complete when you mine the last ore from the last asteroid however you still have to have all of the ore at the agent's station in order to turn it in. If downtime occurs and the mission is not complete then all of its asteroids will regenerate to full and you'll have to mine all of them to 0 to make it complete.
Note that if the mission is marked as complete but you lose some of the ore (say you had some in a jet can that despawned during downtime) then you are screwed as the asteroids wont regenerate.
Gas mining missions work the same way (recent personal experience). I believe that ice mining missions do too, but I haven't tested them.
