Missions clearly give us ADVANCE WARNING when we have to make any adjustments to complete it. We were always told when we needed to change our overlay to list certain objects vital to the mission that wouldn't normally show up there. We are told when we have to carry more cargo than is available in our current ship. Great, so why the HELL do I have to spend 5-10+ minutes running out to a mission location before it tells me that my Battlecruiser is not allowed (only Cruiser)?
I ran L1 missions in a cruiser. I run (most) L2 missions in a battlecruiser. Both medium-size ships... but honestly, I might not care having to switch back to cruiser every now and then like it is now, but please give me one less reason to log out of EVE in frustration.

Yeah having a ship size notice on all missions would be nice. I think there might be some that do already, not sure, but it would be nice to know before hand. Its frustrating accepting a mission then going to do it finding out you have to go back and start fitting a frigate or something smaller than what your using, all the while the clock is ticking for that bonus to completing the mission quickly. My position in the corp "Logistics Coordinator" just a fancy name for Janitor. |

cargo space required is extremely easy to check in the station before you undock. Im not sure why your running level 1's in a cruiser and level 2's in a battlecruiser as a destroyer will instapop anything in level 1's and a cruiser will instapop 90% of things in level 2's Your just slowing your killing speed down by using bigger ships and as you mentioned sometimes you cant even get your ship in.

I came across a similar thing with T2 ships when trying to increase my standing with another faction. Trying to take my jaguar into a mission a couple of jumps away and being told the mission is for frigates only... very irritating

Ya know, I've never really had this problem. I use the cheapest ship to get the job done efficiently. Are you taking BSs into lvl 3s? HASs into lvl 2s? ASs into lvl 1s?
Here let me help.
1 = Frigate/destroyer 2 = Sometimes frigate. Destroyer/cruiser/assault ship 3 = Sometimes cruiser. Battlecruiser/heavy assault ship 4 = Usually a battle ship. 5 = Couple BSs and a logistics. Some sort of fleet.
If yer running into gate restriction yer probably using the wrong class of ship.

it may be a little bit annoying, but consider this as a price of riskless missionrunnung by using an oversized ship for it.

The information is obviously already in place, so yes, I would agree. When I start with a new corp, I am always a bit hesitant to what ships to cart over to new mission site.

It's weird that this happens, yeah. I don't see why the restrictions exist, to be honest, unless it's in low-sec, keeping gankers out of newbie missions. Is that a problem?
Heck, bringing a battlecruiser to a destroyer's mission usually just means it takes longer to get to the acceleration gate anyway. Crusades: Security Status |
