Is there any way to start EVE in configuration mode? It keeps trying to use the video card built into the motherboard and not the Shader compatible card I've added.

Edited by: Harcole on 30/09/2009 13:14:14 That is an option but if doesn't support any nice features then why waste system resources on it? I'm sure you had a post somewhere else asking a similar thing...
/me goes off to search for it...

Just like I told you before, I can't disable it in BIOS. But that isn't the question I asked. Please read the question and don't respond if you don't have an answer.
Thanks in advance. ;}

Are you plugging the monitor into the card and not the Motherboard? Also, there is no "Configuration mode" for eve. _____________________________________ Haruhiist since December 2008

Your question makes no sense You can however run the game in "Safe mode" if that is what you mean, the executable to do so is in the same directory as the original .EXE marked: EVE Online(Safe mode) |

Just because you can't do it your self doesn't mean the system doesn't support it, a quick Google linked me to the Dell website with a manual about your motherboard. Just because you ask the same question in a different way doesn't mean the answer will change.

Disable the onboard graphics in the BIOS, then power down, unplug the PSU, install the VGA card, connect the monitor cable to the installed card then power back up to safe mode, install the enhanced mode drivers, reboot into normal OS mode.
EDIT: Actually would appear that there is no "off" feature but this is from the PDF Manual for the motherboard you said you had...
Originally by: Motherboard Manual
Primary Video Controller ù The settings are Auto (default) and Onboard. Auto (default) ù If only an AGP card is installed, the computer uses the AGP card; if only a PCI card is installed, the computer uses the PCI card; if both AGP and PCI cards are installed, the computer uses both cards unless the computer is using Windows NT, in which case the computer uses the AGP card. Onboard ù The computer uses the AGP card.

And as per the old thread, other people have commented that the Card isn't sufficient to run EvE either, I'm going go out on a limb and presume you changed cards...
