I have heard this is connected to Eve Online. Whenever i launch the game a file comes up in Task Manager Saying ExeFile.Exe This task is using 450megs of my computer memory, Yes , That is soo much!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is lagging my internet, all my other computers internet, and much more, The Eve game even lags, I havnt had this before, and only got it around 3 hours ago, when i tried opening eve, Please tell me how to fix this, It makes the game un playable!

Edited by: JeanMichel Bizarre on 02/10/2009 10:04:36 exefile.exe is the actual game client process so if you want it gone stop playing EVE.
I always have exefile.exe running and never eve.exe ------

It uses anywhere from 350-500mb of memory. Which is just a little bit. ------

You could try clearing the cache from within the game client (ESC>reset settings>clear all cache files) This will not mess with your overview settings (yay!) but it will reset all your keyboard shortcuts (boo)
Try it, it might work. ------

exefile.exe IS EVE.
it should use, as stated, 300+ MB of ram and the higher your graphics settings (and the lack of a graphics card) will increase this a lot.
If your finding your computer is stuttering while running eve then it could be something else is running as well, chewing up the CPU time and memory (AV scan?)
If your net connection has gone bonkers but its just been upgraded, perhaps your ISP has done something to your connection?

So everyting was fine, then suddenly your getting 'internet lag' when playing Eve. As this is what you have changed, it looks the likely culprit, sort out your new connection.

Anywhere under 600MB is perfectly normal.
Untick Resource caching.
Clear the cache.
Stop any other applications like msn, xfire, steam (assuming it isn't the steam version).
The 'lag' you are probably experiencing is memory leaks or cache issues. Not much really to do with internet 'lag'. ------------------------------------- Don't click the links or even the forum topics. |

Ill have to agree that using 450mb is extremely out of proportion, i have 2 clients running right now, in jita and both are only using about 22mb(5.5mb docked) each, on maximum graphics, that definately sounds like a memory leak from an error during execution of the file, mabye a computer error or a client error, not exactually sure

-_- calm down, exefile.exe has a usage of about 300 to 500 MB at full detail. As far I know this has almost always been this way.
If you press ingame Ctrl+Shift+Alt+M at the same time you get a monitor that will tell the memory usage of eve.
In general the memory usage has no influence on your internet performance.
So I suggest you check your Windows Task Manager and see if there are other processes that use up allot of resources. Check for Processes that have a high CPU and/or mem usage. Wut? |

eve.exe is the launcher, exefile.exe is the game. Normal startup (logged in, in a station) is between 200-300 MB. Max memory usage can be anything, as much as is needed to display everything on your screen depending on your settings. 300-500 MB is not abnormal.
