Hey everyone!
A long time ago, I got hooked on the Nezeramontias mod for Diablo 2. You can read all the info you want on it here.
Anyway, I am here to share with you that I am now hosting a NezMod server for people to play on. I'm hosting it 24 hours a day, with minimal downtimes!
Setup is easy, just follow these easy steps:
1. Create a fresh install of Diablo 2 on your computer.
2. Install Lord of Destruction.
3. Download the 1.10 LOD patch here. http://www.siigarikitawa.com/diablo2/LODPatch_110.exe
4. Download the Nezeramontas mod here. http://www.siigarikitawa.com/diablo2/nez108a.zip
5. Download the Battle.net Gateway Editor here. http://www.siigarikitawa.com/diablo2/gwe.exe
6. Install the Nezeramontias mod by extracting the files to your Diablo 2 directory and running the install.bat file. It will rename your PatchD2.mpq file to a backup and replace it with the Nezmod files.
7. Run Battle.net Gateway Editor. Click on the Diablo 2 tab, and add a gateway. Name the gateway "PDX NezMod Server". Under Zone, type 8. Under IP, type 71.117.223.179 and press OK. Test the connection. If all is well, load Diablo 2 and connect using Open Battle.net.
8. Enjoy!
I am trying to get it to work with Closed Battle.net to prevent cheating, but because this is just an experiment in fun anyway, I hope people enjoy themselves. I used to be able to run a closed server years ago so I'm going to have to look at the configuration files and figure it out.
Anyway, I hope everybody enjoys the server and has fun! I hope to see you all in game!
Please post any questions about the server here, or related game questions. I've been playing Nezmod for years and I find it to be very enjoyable.

Dude the forums do that all the time when you try to link urls around words.
It drives me crazy, it makes it so the internet is less intuitive. It also really upsets me because I have to edit my post and it shows the little edit winkydink.
I wish CCP would fix their forums so if I want to make an attractive link, I can.

Well that sucks. Anyway i shall now finish derailing this thread

It looks like just a more extreme version of D2 for people who like to be "uber".
Monsters are harder, characters level faster *and* gain more stat points per level. If you like being level over 9000, this is the mod for you!
Personally, I'd rather play the original game.

i'd talk about the "legality" of modified .MPQ files (specially if you pretend to go on closed b.net) but meh~ the game is pretty old now, why bother with EULAs and stuff.
