I am building a few ships and decided to mine I noticed that most ore that is not scordite or pyroxers is all mined out in empire. All you see is secure containers in space. 0.o It's not you... no wait it is you.

Second, if your system's asteroid fields are empty, try another system. Third, if all the local asteroid fields are cleared out by your competition, just pull up some missions and look for one with good mining. (The eve-survival site has a list.) Kill a few bad guys and the mine to your heart's content. There's plenty of rocks out there.

The growth rate has been nerfed, however the starting size has been buffed, roids have gotten at least 3 times bigger, if not 4 or 5. So after Unholy Rage there is now more ore (increased supply) to compensate for the lower number of miners (decreased supply).

At least in all the belts i know of. I'm not a hardcore miner, and i'm amazed how something like that can go unnoticed by so many.

When you mine an asteroid down, whether it be to a pebble or nothing at all, its ore gets respawned elsewhere in the EVE world. It will regenerate in your own system when it's depleted elsewhere, though due to the mechanics of the regeneration (which I can't go into) it may take a while for the asteroid to resume its former size. There's no rhyme or reason to how quickly it'll respawn; it depends completely on how much ore of that type is mined elsewhere, and where in the respawn order your belt happens to land.
