myrtarous GoonFleet GoonSwarm	Posted - 2009.10.05 11:03:00 - [2] A little background: This drop was the result of two compounding "undocumented features" plus good luck on at least three extremely low-probability ship/item spawns coming together at once. Three petitions and two bug reports were opened in relation to this mess; I don't particularly expect this to ever happen again, whether the issues get resolved or not. It's impossible for me to replicate, that's absolutely certain. I got it legitimately, but it killed a basilisk, cerberus, rokh, and muninn (all rigged) along the way. If this doesn't meet reserve by mid-month, this little guy is going on one of our Levs for the best post-Dominion shield tank on all of TQ. Happy bidding

I AM sure that the number of factorials involved in the probability calculation for this would make the formula look like a CAOD post. You're probably aware of our chest-beating titan fleet (and all the threats against it for post-dominion invasions), and you probably know about the way the Lev's shield tank will work post-patch as well. Add in this extra shield property to the newly-enormous shield of a Lev and it's a really incredible improvement, something on the order of 440,000 raw hp ABOVE what Draclira would give. We will get plenty of use out of this if the auction doesn't hit reserve. On top of that, the rarity (it's the only one) adds immense value, anyone would be proud to have this on their lossmail :v If it's not worth it to you, don't bid :) . It's worth it to [someones] so far.

There's a good chance it was intended to be removed and someone missed a trigger.

It most likely won't drop ever again, and he prolly got it at the end of a multy stage(8-10?) Storyline mission against the Amarr Empire or one of the subfactions(Khanid maybe) given by a Pirate Faction(Bloodraiders?).. Good luck with the sale!

They changed the NPC type from Faction Officer to Deadspace 'Officer' during that early downtime a few days ago. He no longer drops anything worth **, he's like any other complex rat now.
