Hello all, I dont like thiefs and stealing, in games or in real life :) so i have an ideea for combating this aspect of eve. Lets take some example from some already playable or "to be released" MMORPG games, they have the "selective drop", if a player kils a npc, the drop can be looted only by theat player, or can be seen only by theat player, in eve we can do this whit wreks- make them imposible to be salvaged by another non fleet player or at least make the thief player red :) like the looting from cans because they stealing someting from you, make the mission sites harder to be found, at least make them to require some scanning skils and maibe a t2 ship, and another thing, the cargo scaner can't be block, in the interest of ballancing the game we need an anti-cadgo scanning module :), or to have a: " procentual chance to success". In my opinion if one wants to became a theif, there must be some consequences.
Thank you for reading this and i hope it helps.

I honestly have no idea what your proposing... It sounds to me like you saying you want people that are stealing from you to be able to be shot by you, which they already can be...
Also, scanning down a mission site is actually impossible afaik right now, the only way to get to one is by scanning down the ship thats running it, which isnt difficult at all, but it is something you can choose to watch your scanner for, and when you see them pop up, you just warp away and tada, no stolen goods.
Stealing from your mission goods is a completely valid tactic and eve though it often ****es me off, I believe it should stay.

The "when you see them pop up" tactics dont work in hy sec, because of the big number of ppls runing missions in the same sistem. If they salvage your wreks you can't shoot them. And at last i dont see how ****ing players off is good for them .

There is consequences to theft - the criminal flagging system.
If I come steel loot from NPCs you've popped you can shoot me and Concord will not intervene. Sure often people steel from wrecks in the hope of starting a fight (guilty as charged) but that is not the point.
By what magic are you proposing something that will physically stop me from taking from a wreck? There is no RP reason for it.
Eve is a harsh place but that is what most of the players love about it.

"selective drops" is the reason I will not be buying Diablo III.
It makes me want to stab the eyes out of the developers who thought that was a good idea.

I do wonder if some people are not capable or running a simple search.
This gets discussed about every other day. To save you time have a look at Sunday's thread it contains the dev and GM states that salvage does not belong to you. collection of dev responses on salvage

Move systems.

Read this carefully, because it's important: They are NOT your wrecks.

They learn that Eve is dog eat dog and not Hello Kitty Online.

Isn't it great that they are actually NOT stealing? So no need for you to shoot them.
Originally by: CCP Prism X Why is stealing salvage OK? It's not. It shouldn't even be possible to move an item from your cargo-hold / hanger to another persons cargo-hold / hanger without opening a trade window. Before the salvage enters those containers it is not considered your stuff by the server code. Hence it's not stealing.

And CCP is quite happy with salvaging as a mini profession. Linkage
