I asked the devs this question in the dev panel and they didnt really have a set way to say it, they use 'kwaYf', all they said was what Riddari said, that it was not supposed to be pronounced Kwaff.
So I guess since the devs use 'kwaYf', we should too.
Never! Who makes this game anyway

Glad to know I have been doing the right thing... hardly suprising considering my grandparents gets hugely upset if i mispronounce words.
Quafe is kwaYf because of the e sound at the end... it changes the a to a y sound. if there was no e then it would be kwaff.
I roleplay... there is this computer game called "Earth - The First Genesis" where i play a character in the early 21st century. |

Actually, that's how I pronounce it, so everyone else should too.

people people, the correct pronouncation, according to sound samples taken from the eve program datafiles itself (which are not in-game as far as i know but were intended as background ads in gallente stations) is:
quave
as in wave, only with quave. |

I pronounce it exactly like I pronounce "button", except the "but" is replaced with a "kway", and the "ton" is replaced by a "ff"
There are 10 sorts of people in the world - those who understand binary, and those who do not. |

Edited by: Tuwile Naldai on 28/10/2004 13:12:33 Someone find me a french word which sounds like kwayf. Try and say this with a french accent. Also, Imagine a french person saying kwayfe, it just does't work.
Now find me a word that sounds like kwaff. Try and say this with a french accent. Also, imagine a french person saying kwaff, it works wow!
Its kwaff Its kwaff Its kwaff Its kwaff Its kwaff Its kwaff Its kwaff Its kwaff Its kwaff Its kwaff Its kwaff Its kwaff Its kwaff Its kwaff Its kwaff Its kwaff Its kwaff Its kwaff Its kwaff Its kwaff Its kwaff Its kwaff Its kwaff Its kwaff Its kwaff Its kwaff Its kwaff Its kwaff Its bloody kwaff!
Kwaff
I take the lack of response as an indication that I am correct

kwaff... that sounds like a dock not really able to bark in a proper way because he is to fat or something...
it's spoken kwayf, and don't tell me french ppl can't speak that out. they also say "S'il vous plait", where the ai-sound in plait fits really well to the ay in kwayf
