So far, this game seems to be about immersion, and many people have webcams by now. Perhaps it's time to introduce some avatars being replaced by webcam feeds? Maybe even a little bit of face-tracking programming and it'd be quite the live "in-the-pod" view. As for technical aspects, I have no idea and won't comment on what's needed, but still try to provide a few ideas: It's still perhaps a "high-bandwidth" only idea, clients offering cam to only 'address booked' players, or corp-chat. Fleeted? Maybe for commanders only. I mean, it's what I'd guess to be a 70x70 avatar, so the bandwidth needs should still be small, whether it's supplied by the client or the EVE servers. Earlier on maybe in heavy compression... Ooooorr... "interstellar transmissions at FTL speeds are difficult, and have to be compressed and pixelated" to be an excuse. As for banning ****? I d'know... Right-click: "Report Abuse." ... MAYBE allow **** in 0.0.  I've rather exhausted my ideas on the subject.

I don't know if I understand what you're trying to say, you mean changing the current character portraits with real person portraits? I don't think this will work when we can walk in stations.

I would like to see our character portraits animated and doing things, but real life webcams are a big no-no..
We all know that Goons and PL would just fill local with dangly horse-bits and other such grotesque imagery.

How is Goons flashing their dangly bits any worse than you flashing us your ugly Amarr ship? Kidding, though... I do believe that webcams have been safely implemented in many other places. A place like "the rest of the internet." The most explicit thing I ever saw on someone's webcam (without inviting it  ) was someone's hand-drawn picture of a middle finger flipping you off that said the meaning of such an action around it in big block letters, with rather detailed 5-point stars around the edges. Also, people being unpredictable with their explicitness is one of the many reasons that most online games have "online interactions not rated" displayed somewhere, isn't it?

I mean first-hand, not on stuff you download from forum trollers. Now, accusing me of being new to webcam stuff over games and the likes would be true. Either way, I'm saying *****es and crusty vajays aside, (which REALLY WOULDN'T BE THAT MUCH) that it'd be sweet. So shove it and keep your posts "constructive" instead of quippy.
