I've been playing EVE on Windows 7 Professional RTM x64 no problems. There's no 64-bit version, but the 32-bit runs fine through the integrated compatibility mode.

Any performance improvement?

Actually a performance loss, but it's not significant enough to not upgrade and get all the other benefits of the OS.

Thanks for the reply and all, but what I really want to know if Eve will work in Windows 7 with pressing an icon = poff done? I dont feel qualified to hack the sourcecode of Win 7 just to play Eve. :)

That's a unrelated issue to Windows 7. It's the installer when you downlaod it not being completely correct. Try using the other method to the one you used whether it's the offline installer or online one. ------------------------------------- Don't click the links or even the forum topics. |

Have run Windows 7 for months. No problem. Running in both window mode, dual screen and full screen. No problem. Use Nhance to get anti-aliasing. Still no problem.

Edited by: Kinori Kalrath on 13/10/2009 16:07:56 Been playing Eve on Windows 7, works fine for the most part. Half the time I can't get into Eve voice. One of my friends runs Windows 7, and the only problem he has is turret sounds not working occasionally.

There are turret sounds in EVE under Win7?
I have been having big issues with EVE under Win7. Every so often the graphics will crash...HARD and require a reset button reboot, or wait for 5min and it MIGHT unlock, but then all sound in the computer will be crackly as if the speakers are borked.
This may be a Win7/nVidia/190 drivers/EVE combination problem though, so once I downgrade to the 186 series drivers I'll post my findings.

Been playin' on win 7 x64 ever since rtm came out. Never had an issue in eve or anything else tbh. As performance goes, I had 6 gb of ram running on a 32 bit Os, so can't say I noticed any degrading as my cores are used more efficiently aswell as the excess ram the 32 bit os was not handling.
