I am currently running lvl 4s to help rep up my 2 new alts. Neither alt has any social skills atm (still learning the learning skills.) My main has Social 3. After paying closer attention to what the "Social" skill did, I added it to level 5 in both alts ques on EvE Mon. A friend in game then asked me if weather or not my main's skill level would apply the rep boost to all in the fleet.
So does the rep earned by those in a fleet come from the person turning in the mission or does each person gain rep based on their own private skills?

Only the mission taker's Social skill level affects the amount of standing gain.
The gain is evenly split among the (up to 10) fleet members, with no additional modifiers.

Are you sure about this? I've noticed my alt is getting standings at a slightly lower rate than my main (which has social 4, where the alt has social 3)

Should be easy enough to see, check the transactions on each of them over a few missions.

The standings are shared evenly amoung the fleet when I've done it. Had social 5 on the mission runner and social 3 on the alt (ready for when it pulled missions).
You may notice a difference in bounties/mission reward and bonus - this might be your corp tax rate difference. It was 5% on my mission runner vs 0% on my alt.
Sharing standings from storyline missions doesn't take the corp standings from solo'n and split evenly amoung the fleet. Eg if have a storyline giving like over 20% corp standings, sharing it with 2 in fleet and you may notice its like 0.6% each vs over 20% when not shared, ie not 1/2 of 20% or 10% each.
