Damage the can not be fixed by repairers for free or even subsystems damage that can be fixed by nanites but nanites are not free or crippling ships before you die at least because it is realistic andf so of course gives what we want for PvPing in the 1st place at least some benifit to taking any risk as lone wolfs or small gangs.
Small gangs suck for most people, they do not want to fly in them because most of the time they loose everything and gain nothing not even causing any damage the other side will have to pay for is then a waist of time for most people to PvP in small gangs and 1 vs 1 or many
the more realistic things are the more fun and so if there were damage were as the victor will at least have to pay for the damage then that would be useful to still go out and PvP in small gangs or less. Even though you loose your entire ship.
You will never see small gang PvP hardly or if you do it will be small gang against 1 person and that 1 person always running because what's the point.
You would see 100 times the fights and still people will get lots out of it,
let some of there parts fall off for the victor's to take etc...
Go ahead tell me you just need to risk your ship and I'll tell you what for? iwhen it is more like a donation and I no matter what will loose and not even give the victor a bloddy nose in 1 vs 1 or small gangs.
You see why people blob? it's because that's the ONLY way to have a chance to do ANY damage because at least you got a chance to destroy 1 ship.
In EVE if you're in a small gang you look for a lone pilot if you are a lone pilot you look for a defensless miner or noob etc..
Is the really hard core?
realistic is fun because it makes sense and is useful it happening that you should be able to have at least a chance of cousing SOME sort of damage.
Most epople loose all the time when the try to PvP and get nothing for it and that is not even realistic, so it's not wrong for someone to want that.
it will be so awesome and tactical and for the 1st time a real fight for 1 on 1 or small gangs will exist in a game.
Right now if most people are lucky they can just kill a drone of theirs and maybe they will think twice next time, haha or maybe if you die slow they will loose allot of isk on ammo...? please give me a brake.
Or if you are the one who always wins because you can pick you fights because you are NOT the mininer or local you can at least have SOME Risk your self? hmmm?

What is the point in expecting most of us to get into a PvP ship fight if we do a ton of damage but if we do not win al the way we did not even get a piece of them?
I wish life was like that, we would have no more war.
We all would just figure who was going to win and then the other side would just give up, because they would gain nothing at all.
and also what's up with figuring more people will go to 0.0 if we are allowed to make a treaty to get one systems at certain hours to be allowed in, well golly gee.

Just allow us to paint and skin our ships. Some of the skin options would include damage, rust, etc.

I do think though yes it is true 1 on 1 fights is not the norm and so not what I'm trying to ask for,.
I'm talking about if you make 1 on 1 worth while for everyone you will make all other fights much better, and not just someone tacking him self onto a gang to get on the tail end of a kill mail
everyone in your gang will have a good chance at getting their heart beeeting fast because if they take any damage it will be something to have to get excited about and feel like something was done worthwile.
how about makeing fights last ven longer but all sorts of stuff falling off everyones ship, hahaha

As far as I can remember, you're asking for a feature that already exists. If a ship has been knocked into a certain amount of hull damage (I think its the equivelent of what would make it explode had you not trained the hull upgrades skill), You would not be able to undock from the station without repairing it first... and in the case of a BS, that could set you back quite a few mil.
Unless this has been changed. (or was an unintended feature they fixed), since I havent been knocked into hull (and lived to dock) in many months.
Oh and I think its also possible to cripple a ship and cause it to 'loose control' its like an HP point or 2 from exploding.. but its not dead yet

Well the underlying concept would make sense if damaging a POS or its structures required a lot less effort than repairing it so hit and runs on POSs would be more effective at preparing the system for the main force. But on ships? I think that would be a little too much micromanagement for Eve.

This has been fixed (or at least a work-around has been made). You can either pay the station to repair the ship, or remove low slot modules and fit enough reinforced bulkheads to restore your hull to 10%(I think), and you can undock and hull rep in space.

how about they or whoever did not want to dock have to use the nanite compound?
And to make it easyer how about a % chance to get damage that can not be repped by reppers either but need nanites or docking to fix, yeah that's a little better. and then maybe I will get into some fights finaly it being worth something.

They way you explained it... Woah... I had to read it a bit slower than I thought.
The idea is pretty nice, but I can't really imagine how could it be implemented at all without completely killing the server with loads and loads of information.
On the second sidem it's so awesome... But it'd just cause people to have numerous ships in mid-repair during the game and just fetching the repped one for a mission or pvp. And in general it'd require a huge load of money from pvpers and it'd make starting pvp even harder.
Don't get me wrong, I love the idea, I just don't see how it can be implemented.
