Hello,
I want to be self sufficient. In order to do that, I need to create ammo. So I bought myself a nice (Original) blueprint of Piranha missiles. Great. So I find out that there's practically no way to create copies of it (Need lab. No labs.). Ah well. I can use the original to create missiles. Are there disadvantages to using the original?
Allright, second question. I need Mexallon. That's in either Gneiss, Jaspet, Kernite, Plagioclase or Pyroxeres. In what kind of security systems can I find such asteroids? My ship isn't THAT hot (kinda noob), so where should I look?
Thanks for any input! - Help! Help! I'm being repressed! |

On top of that you can make 5% savings on minerals per level of Production Efficiency skill ... i.e. if you don't even have it your piranhas will be 25% more expensive to make than those of pro manufacturers... I suggest level 4; that's a total time of about 1-1.5 day to learn and really pays off.
You can easily get mex from plagioclase or pyroxeres; both can be found in even 0.9 systems... I'd suggest pyroxeres as it gives better overall money per m^3 mined.

Ah allright. Thanks! So... There's no problem that I use an original instead of a copy? - Help! Help! I'm being repressed! |

Edited by: Jonas Bane on 29/10/2004 21:35:41 If you're using your missiles to kill stuff, you don't have to mine anything. Grab all the loot bad guys drop and go reprocess it back at a station. This turns your "Basic Shield Booster" and "Backup LADAR Array" into minerals you can use to build your stuff.
Improving your Refining skill helps you milk more minerals out of each item. A better standing with the corporation who owns the station will let you keep more minerals as well.
Of course, check to see if you can make more cash simply selling the minerals than you would save by building your own missiles. On the other hand, not having to jump anywhere to get ammo is worth something too.
Unfortunately, missiles generally cost more for the damage they do than hybrid turrets and projectiles. You might want to make an alternate setup that uses less expensive ammo for when you need to "harvest" bad guys for minerals.
edit: Nope, no problem if you use the Original instead of a Copy. You can build off of either.
