Here's a link to a recent-ish thread from here in OOP with a few links for you. Beyond what's in that thread, I have 3 buddy keys for a 14 day trial of Champions Online. I'm subbed to it but haven't made up my mind about it yet. If you want one of the keys say so and I'll send it thru evemail. Same goes for any two other folks if they're interested, FCFS. -------------

Cool, I'll look up champions online and see if that's any good, we can join up together possibly.
Edit: Trying guild wars atm, I had the CD but I apparently lost it along with the key. ---- My Music

Lets see, this gets hard each and each time cause I've played most betas now.
Warhammer Online: It was ok, but it shwoed huge faction imbalances that killed it for me. That and a second attempt was thwarted by a terrible download manager.
Everquest II: Actually bought the game and played it for awhile, it was fun, but felt dead, empty and lonely.
Lord of the Rings: Terrible Controls, terrible mechanics, felt too empty and I was never a huge LotR fan in the first place.
City of Heroes: Killed 2 guys from the first combat quest, quit after that.
SWtoR: I can't wait, signed up for beta, I hope I get picked (Used my uber PC)
D&D: I wanted to avoid this just because it was from turbine, and I'd have to deal with Turbine Manager again, but I may suck it up and try it.
Watching Champions Online videos atm. ---- My Music

I used to be a huge GW fan, played since beta. It eventually got stale for me but only after many years of enjoyment. I still pop it open once in a while and se if any new content has been added. If you've got any questions fire away. If you need some gold to start you up i guess i could fork over a few plat seem as im flithy rich and dont really play it anymore.

Tried trial for GW, got bored, logged off and uninstalling now.
I'm not sure about champions online, it looks GREAT and looks fun but I really don't want to take one of your keys if I'm gonna play it for alittle and get bored or not like it. ---- My Music

Stay away from warhammer on-line. I gave the trial ago simply because of that video with that overly entisiastic dev. The game is donkeycrap. The grinding starts from the first moment, and its terrible grinding. The experience was basically like this :
dude welcome to warhammer online I'm your man, now go kill ten idiots in that direction and then return so I can order you to kill one thousand more
I think I managed to level up to level 6 or something before I was done experiencing my masochistic side. I wanted to like it, but Warhammer is just anothyer mindless grinder like wow where skill has nothing to say, its all about how much you grind grind grind grind grind grind grind grind grind you grind grind grind grind grind grind grind grind grind you grind grind. Sounds a bit familiar...
Oh yeah. I play EVE. But clearly it's more sophisticated.

Sent Still have one left if anyone wants it.
The thing with it is, as must inevitably happen, in comparing it with CoH there are some fundamental changes I just don't understand. Why for example, did they opt for missions to be open-world, instead of instanced as they are in CoH? That is one of the best features of the game so it's almost like a step backwards. Now like the rest of the MMO stable you have to wait for mobs to respawn that other people are also trying to kill. Also, the lack of a errr..lackey system. I don't for the life of me know why CoH is the only MMOG that has such a system, allowing high level players to play with low level friends and vice versa...it's genius, and yet non-existent in Champions, as far as I can tell.
Those major criticisms aside, minor ones include a tutorial that isn't as helpful as it should be, balance issues and crap economy. The last at least should improve over time as it is relatively new. Bugs are being ironed out but I think it needs a little more 'je ne sais quoi' before it's a very good game, which I think it could be. Plus points...the core gameplay mechanic is fun, as is travelling and exploring the world. There are many different power sets and characters can pick powers from any sets they like for the ultimate mix n match. (eg. you can have fire powers and frost ones if you wanted). The nemesis idea is brilliant...you can design your own arch-enemy at lvl 25, including his costume, powers and what his lackeys look like! Sadly I've not hit that lvl yet so don't know how it works in game. Anyway, see for yourselves. -------------
