Ok, just a thought here, you are bran new to the game logged in for your first time. what do u do? go throught the totorial, do the industrial millitary and buisness missios. then what EXPLORE well thats what i did atleast. so your flying around and u come to low sec and you get this warrring that of course you ignore and start flying around and you come to a gate camp that the ppl there dont care you've been playing for 2 days and are still in your rookie ship or dont look at your info and blow you up. that kinda blows your having fun and now your dead and you have no idea what you did to them to deserve this.
so, my idea is to (if possible) have a color designation for those who are still under the 2 week trial period (or if they straight went bought there first month) for there first 2 weeks have this color designation. kinda like red, yellows, or blue. so ppl go oh hes new and tring to learn and explore so rather than him/her getting waxed right then and there the ppl can go this isnt safe space to be in. you should stay in a safe area untill you know more about the game or have a few friends from your giuld fly you out so you dont get murdered. it might also help to bring ever one in this "sandbox" as it where closer together.
i do not know if there are down side beside some bully going oh its a noob that will be an easy kill. which is just a dank move and those ppl should be ashamed of them selves. you know who you are lol
so i would greatly appresiate some feed back and that a ccp imployee might bring this idea up the chain of command.

Oh god the typos. Look you cant forget that eve = a harsh place. Being killed in low sec is part of that. The noobs get their warnings before they jump in and should always read the warnings, if they dont then they deserve to get killed so at least they learn their lessons

true i agree with that completely but that also is no fun and very frustrating when your start i am not just suggesting this on that sigle note. it will also get experianced ppl in high sec and other noods alike to take them or each other under there wings and help them to learn about the game. when i started i join USDH and had Lei Dong teach me every thing i know pretty much about the game i just think it might make it easier for ppl like lei who like to teach to find ppl that want to learn.
and no i cant spell at 1:30 am when i've been up since 7am (can't spll at the best of times...lol)

Doesn't matter if the ships of new players are red, yellow, green or have pink dresses. No one would care and they'd get blown up, anyways.

The presence of newbie scout alts means that everyone + dog will shoot them anyway.
A better solution for what you're after would be to disable the "don't show this again" on some warnings early on, and/or perhaps add a second nag screen on the low-sec warning (you know: "You are about to …" *CLICK* "…Now, did you really read that last popup? It kinda matters, you know.") ——— “If you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡… you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.” — Karath Piki |

Edited by: Melor Rend on 22/10/2009 10:00:07 While this is a nice idea it won't actually change anything about anything. It's not like anyone would not kill a newbie just because of some colour code. It's already now possible to not kill just everyone - you simply point, scram and web them, check their employment history and then let them go, kill them or ransom them respectively.
In reality though, most people will simply open fire not matter how old or young the character is.
If you're in lowsec/0.0 then you're fair game - or at least that's how I see it and that's also the way I play - character age is irrelevant. If it turns out to be a real newbie (and not just an alt) then I might give them tips or advice if they mail or convo me (has happened before). Usually after you explain security status to them then the will understand their mistake. And if they remain civil and seem like they actually learnt from their mistake then I will often send them ISK to buy a new ship. At least then they won't turn around and make the same mistake again.
Edit:
Btw. If it does get implemented then can we please call it the "hanky code"?

Another problem with your idea is that many ppl will set up a new character to go and spy for them (this is done in many cases when corps are at war) so therefore your suggestion would mean that a spy in system would get two whole weeks were they can report. NO. a better idea could be to disable thier access to low sec for that two week period until they had learnt enough about the game.

However, this way you are restricting a compitent player from accessing lowsec in a new alt.
Its a nice idea with good intentions, but any restrictions or safety features for new players (while being helpful for the true noob) could be either overly restrictive for experienced players alts or downright abused.
