So I recently started running lvl 5 missions and the first mission I ran was Operation Wyrmsbane. Amazed that I finally got a lvl 5 mission that was not against an Empire faction, I hopped into it and began to run it. I had to stop for a while near the beginning of the mission but came back a bit later to complete it. To my surprise, there was a faction BS sitting in the mission with the rest of the spawns.
I read up on the mission before I attempted it and I did not recall (even reading it after) seeing anything about a faction spawn. Is this a random/chance occurance like in Worlds Collide lvl 4 or is it just a random spawn that shouldn't have happened?

I hate posting too much in my own topic but it seems like my 2nd run through of this mission did not produce a faction BS but instead had a Serpentis Info Shard that was missing from the first time I ran it. It seems like the spawns for different items are in flux for this mission.

I've only run the mission once and got neither an info shard or faction BS but yeah, mission guide does say that at least the shard may spawn. This mission is far from alone in spawning some nice little bonus items. Some of the structures in other missions drop some decent loot along with the junk. And some drop stupid amounts of junk that you just have to collect. I got 452 marines off of one drop. I wonder if I can turn those into dust players some day .
Also, I see no need to keep it a secret since it's low sec and a lvl5. There really isn't much competition in those missions. The loot drops are just a bonus anyways, main course is the 80k LP from completing it. -----------------------------------------------------

You did in fact not run Wyrmsbane but Wyrmslayer. Wyrmslayer always has the shadow spawn as Objective. But i only once had decent loot from it. Wyrmsbane may have the infoshard. But thats chance based.

Ah, thank you for the reply. I guess I confused the similar titles. I take it that the missions are setup exactly the same then? Except, obviously, the shard spawn and faction spawn. I apparently, after being informed, have run both, and I guess I'm trying to rationalize the confusion because they seem like similar mission. Eve-survival isn't so helpful when it comes to the mission Wyrmslayer.
Again, thanks for the heads-up Lyra. *high fives*
