I decided to take advantage of the "Power of 2" and created a new account. I quickly found out that I cannot log in to generate an API key for use in EVE-mon for the first 72 hours. Evidently, according to the message, it's for security reasons that I'm not allowed to log in to the forums/api generation page.
However, and this is the part that "bugs" me. A friend of mine created a new account with the 14 day free trial and has no trouble logging in and getting an API key.
So, why is it that free trials can log in and get an API key for Eve-mon use and paying accounts can't until the 72 hour security window is up?
Must be an oversight one way or the other.
The message I get is: For security reasons, you cannot login to the EVE Forums until your account is at least 72 hours old.
The trial account does not get the message and is able to log in fine and he is only 3 or 4 hours older than mine.

I asked him to log in again to check and he can log in. I cannot.
He is not able to post on the forums though. His character name is: Major Paiyn
Again, we both created accounts within a few hours of each other yesterday afternoon.

Trial accounts can't post (maybe to the New Player board?) IIRC. The measure was added to harm the Wii Sex Toy bloke's ability to spam the forums.
This has been acknowledged as a bug; when I filed it, somebody (ISD BH I assume) responded and informed me that it had been attached to a defect.
But that was months and months ago, so don't go holding your breath on it getting fixed... --- Owl |

Edited by: Rho kho on 22/10/2009 21:33:38 So they are aware that paying accounts can't log in for 72 hours, but trial accounts can?
well, I'm sure it'll be way past my 72 hours before it's fixed, but it is a irritating that I can't easily maximize my training schedule for the first 3 days with eve mon.
