.....is totally bjorked.
Select a "Fighter" character and you'll get willpower as your highest attribute.
Willpower, for the ill-informed, happens to be the most useless attribute ever especially for fighter-related skills (elite ships being a notable exception).
Any chance this can be fixed?

agreed either change gunnery skills back to being willpower based, or change the char types to reflect the change...
even the paranoid has real enemies...

willpower is the chosen attribute because it is balanced as either a primary or secondary attribute for all the weapons and drones (or most of them at least).
Perception may be preferred to many people, however in battle one needs a steady head and strong will rather than being able to fly well. Without strong willpower then the psycological pressure would be too great.
I roleplay... there is this computer game called "Earth - The First Genesis" where i play a character in the early 21st century. |

they just havnt done **** too char creation since the wilpower nerf

Only the new spaceship command skills like covert ops, intercepotors and assault.
The new gunnery skills are all perception based. So willpower has just about one use now, which is not much compared to int and perception
