Edited by: Corian Teranos on 23/10/2009 17:20:24 i had an idea that would allow for alts on the same account to be logged on simultaneously and still allow ccp to make money / create an isk sink
the idea i have involves a new skill and item for ingame activation
multiple personality management prerequisits cybernetics 4 science 5 infomorph psycology 4 an experimental combination of cybernetics and psycological training that allows a person to simultaneously controll multiple clones with seperate personalities and mental structures. because of the danger involved with this new technology players must undergo monthly evaluations by concord and apply for a liscenes renewal. level 1 one additional alt logged on level 5 all 3 characters logged on
item concord 30 day multiple clone liscense allows a player to logon to an alternate character on his account while simultaneously retaining controll of his main clone each active alternate clone must have their own liscense may be purchased on the market or bought from ccp on your account management screen
:Its all fun and games untill your logistics guy tries passive tanking his raven: |

No need for the added complication of a new item, just feed it plexes. You right click a plex on your 'main' and it gives you a new option of applying it to the alternate. You could even make it so that when you show info on someone their linked personalitys are listed, if they so choose (like certs and awards).
When it comes down to it, it is not really much different from the current system, is it? Other than adding in some time/isk sink of course. They could make it so the 'mpm' skill level 1 gives you 1 slot and 5 gives you both even. <-------------------------------------------------> "Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former." -Albert Einstein |

Why would you want to? You can only train one character at a time on each account. Why not just keep it simple and pay the exact same ammount for mulitple accounts like everyone does now?

^^^^ yup, use the same isk to feed plexes to an alt, voila, same thing but can train both characters then.

Would you pay a lesser amount to be able to log in a second or third account, without being able to train?
I would - I have one account I keep training just because, but don't really have a goal for the toon. If I could save some $$ and just move it to my main and log them both in, I'd consider it.
But then, CCP would lose money on this, so not really a good idea.

I am pretty sure that CCP makes more money from a month derived from a GTC(e.g. PLEX) than they do from a month of CC subscription, so restricting this to feeding PLEX's to the alt would theoretically make them more money I think. <-------------------------------------------------> "Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former." -Albert Einstein |

Edited by: Corian Teranos on 24/10/2009 21:45:52 Edited by: Corian Teranos on 24/10/2009 21:44:02 the primary reasion i am proposing this is not to make alts more complicated but to allow the possibility of a cheaper alternative to having 2 accounts not everyone can affoard 30 a month for a game the training limitations is basicly a nerf pay less get less but still get somthing usefull this would be mainly for salvager or hauler alts since once you train them into a indie / minmatar battlecruiser they are prettry much finished and since ccp always makes the solo mining community take it in the ass this is the least they could do
