Past Win2k there are very little tweaks you can do to help improve performance.
Defragging does little on a NTFS file system. As long as you keep your disk above 50% free space it should work at optimal performance.
Keep as little background applications running as possible.
And that is really it. Any programs you downlaod and tweak your system and very often viruses or backdoors for viruses. ------------------------------------- Don't click the links or even the forum topics. |

As far as I know, any video application, gets a FPS Boost, when you disable V-Sync. Eve display options do not include the v-sync one, so check your graphics card software (nvidia panel or ati somewhat.. ) and disable the v-sync from there. You should probably see the improvement in game either in game mechanics & movement or with the fps graph. ------------------------------------------------

Disabling V-sync does not give you an FPS boost.
Get this
You can only see as many Frames Per Second that your monitor can display.
The option in EVE is Interval Present. Set it to interval Default or Interval 1 for the best quality since it prevents screen tearing. V-sync is designed to not only shown the maximum number of frames you can see but also sync it with the refresh rate of the screen. ------------------------------------- Don't click the links or even the forum topics. |

The only thing is that vsync can introduce mouse-lag. Do a google search on triple buffering to see why that is so. -- The future is black.

Supposedly turning off effects for the desktop in windows (transparancy, animation ect) would help out with general performance, but it might be merely a small gain if any for playing eve.
