Would it be cool, to have a set of title milestones, different in appearance and display for characters 100m skill points and over? 150, 200?
?
Would be such a small bit of code, yet, reward those who have "endured" the nerfs, emoragequit threads, and assorted BS through out the years? oh and had fun along the way....

Your lack of achievement is duly noted, having been an an npc corp the entire 4 years and 3 months of your existence, however I was thinking just from an age of character standpoint.

No, just no. For one thing the highest skill point charcter still has less than 150m, I'm fairly sure.

Gratz at your ability to research toons, unfortunately considering this toon has and always will be an alt... should i get an achievement for that too?
Ask your corp for a medal if it makes you happy.. i have a few suggestions on the title... troll harder, I'm hungry.
I for one am personally sick of the suggestion threads which have subtle hints that one game has one thing why not this one..

Edited by: Destination SkillQueue on 23/10/2009 21:00:24 People and characters are legendary, but not because of SP and this is how it should always be. You get to be legendary by getting off your butt and doing things that matter to other players. Some are truly huge things, that effect thousands of players and take almost as many to do. Others are just people getting fame by doing their own little original things.
Paying for an account or buying one that has been in constant training for years isn't worth anything by itself and shouldn't give you any special status over younger players. The skillpoint difference should enough of an reward.

If it's celebrity status you're looking for, then go get in the news. It might take months of hard work and a little luck, it might take one brilliant idea, but being significant in EvE is more than just levelling to an arbitrary threshold at which point the word "Epic" appears in front of your name. Make your certs public so people can see what you're good at if you want to parade your SP around.

While the thought is appreciated, I think I'm going to have to side with the nay sayers on this one.
It's too easy to buy a character, for one.
Perhaps a geriactric award?

finally a point worth taking in....I didn't think about the character buying side at all. It would never occur to sell "me".
I like the idea of the geriatric award though, I prolly qualify...
It wasn't about a look-at-me sticker, I've done enough in this game to qualify for that, but more of an acknowledgment from ccp (besides the 10's of 1000's of dollars in subs) that I(we) hung in there. Could turn it on and off like certs for those who don't want it. Time played really, legendary was probably a bad equation, with all the wow kids.

There is a 100m sp reward and it is called Apotheosis and you can buy it for 15m. 100m sp being about 5 years training if you are Dr Caymus This type of title or reward system is pointless and annoying as hell really. If you want it badly enough though then there is always this 'thing' called WoW -.-E-.- SAVES -.-E-.- |

Edited by: Kenn on 29/10/2009 17:23:15 I like the idea and I am surprised it met with so much criticism. Though the "I bought this character" short cut is a good point simply have the rules state the award can be retracted from characters transfered or accounts that change ownership. CCP has that kind of control over our accounts so it shouldn't be a problem. Player loyalty should be rewarded.
It also adds to the RPG aspect of the game. You are a toon that's been around. Your not just another icon floating around. NPC's know you and such. It adds to noob awe. :o)
I would argue however that there are more pressing issues to deal with ingame but this is the "idea and discussion" forum where this type of thing is appropriate so I am thumbs up for it.

how about an achievement for not cheating by using alts, as they reduce the penalty of consequence on one character when you can switch to another. As well as simply give an advantage to those who couldn't care less about immersion.
