This is more of a question then anything else. Why are there no Gallente-Amarr Pirate ships or Minmatar-Caldari combinations? OP or just ran out of pirate factions?

Probably because those pairs have a lot of overlap so ccp wanted to make sure you crosstrained to a race that was more different to get the pirate ships.

Amarr-Gallente:
Amarr-Minmatar: Blood Raiders
Caldari-Gallente: Guristas
Caldari-Minmatar:
Gallente-Minmatar: Serpentis, Angel Cartel
Outside of the oddity of Serpentis and the Angel Cartel sharing a line of bonuses, each race would get bonuses to 2 types of pirate nations.

Actually i think EoM are Amarr-Caldari, shield tanking, long range Amarr hulls.

gonna sound like a noob, but i've never really looked into these ships.
Are they as awesome as they sound? been looking at the bonuses and stuff and they look ace on paper.

The merc bit is a fairly good match, but EoM is really just a Sansha-wannabe: Amarr ships with Caldari weapons (rails and missiles).
Really, the problem with Amarr-Gallente is that they're a bit too similar to make an interesting mix, and different enough from what we already have.

I don't know about you but I'd definitely take a ship with bonused drones with either an armor resist bonus or a laser RoF bonus.
Style points if it uses the rogue drone Domi hull, but I realize that now we're just talking crazy talk.
And in any case either bonus combo is such a carebear wet dream that it would be silly to implement. Not sure how else to effectively merge Amarr and Gal though.

Carebear wet dream ? What about fast, shield buffered (more then paper Brutix) blasterboats ?
Caldari bonus: 5% shield resists/level
Minmatar bonus: 5% hybrid rof/level
Pirate bonus: web strength, mwd speed, falloff, whatever

Wrong.
The carebear wet dream is a golem that can fit a passive shield tank as strong as the nighthawk without losing DPS or TPs.

Well, the PvP-friendly alternative would be something along the lines of Neuts/Scrams (which is awfully close to Blood Raiders), or Neuts/Drones (a faction full of different-size Curses?!), or, I suppose something like TDs/Blasters…
The last one could be fairly evil: "Ha, haa! You can't track a small moon, whereas I can track a frigate with my Neutron Cannons — now watch me fly around you really really fast!"
