After spending a week or two down in Penirgman (in Amarr space) making my fortune, I felt compelled to share my good fortunes with all the other budding, young Ninjas looking for easy ISK. The missions there are primarily Sanshas and Angels so you'll be raking in on the salvage. It's an unexploited treasure trove for anyone with passing scanning skills, a frigate or two, and a few odd Salvager I's. I've left the area temporarily (to let the angry bears settle down a bit), but I see no reason in not sharing this with my fellow professional salvagers. There's just no one salvaging down there right now, and you'll basically have the Amarr Mission Hub all to yourself. If you've read Kahega's guide and you're looking for someplace to start your career off with a bang, grab your speed frigate and head out to Penirgman. You'll be counting your trit bars and armored plates in no time at all. Fly 'em like you stole 'em lads.

Edited by: Kahega Amielden on 26/10/2009 01:38:39 Actually it's mostly armor plates and melted cap consoles. Not too many angels down there.
Anyway, I do not recommend simply telling people what systems are good. It causes ninjas to overfarm a single system and leave other potentially just as lucrative hubs untouched. It's more helpful to tell people what to look for in a good ninjasystem. Penirgman is good, but doesn't have the numbers to support a huge influx of ninjas IMO

Just so, but I felt compelled to share how untouched it is. Amarr space is dead and if a relatively unskilled and noob salvager like myself can do that well there, well I don't mind sharing. I guess I could be making it too easy though. :)

Why the hell aren't ninjas camping the COSMOS plexes? hundreds of wrecks all day long, no one ever salvages while they run cosmos.

Because ninjas are primarily motivated by griefing, not salvaging.

Probably because the rats respawn and shoot at any players they see, including ninjas. It's typically safe to invade someone else's mission; the aggro mechanics generally mean the mission runner will either have all the aggro already or the still docile rats won't engage the new arrivals either. ______________________________________________________ Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you? |

@ JIta,
Yeah right, and mission runners are only in it for the storylineà right.
We do it for the ISK, just like all other professions.
You know, it just occurred to me, this could be a Mission Runner Recruitment thread at the same time. Why aren't there more players in Amarr? Does it just suck to be Amarri? I take it they're not considered the cool kids of EVE.

Might be cursing inside the curch right now, since im a mission runner that baasically blow all wrecks to demote ninja profits. I AM in it for the LP and storylines + bounties, i just dont like the bahaviour.
Salvage in the COSMOS plex:s is not really an option. Only Metal scrap from the wrecks. ( unless you salvage some poor souls AF that didnŠt make it.
P.s If you do it for the grief, I can respect the dedication, even if I donŠt like it. If you wanna make ISK, make a deal with a runner, the missions go faster and there is bounty in it.

COSMOS, well, quite frankly, I sort of figured that would be mostly small Guristas wrecks and more than the occasional spawning, angry pirates. That sort of thing really hurts my bottom line. We ain't in the small wreck salvigin' bid-ness. We in the battleship wreck salvigin' bid-ness, and cousin, bid-ness is a-boomin!
I convinced a young ninja associate of mine to head down Penirgman way andà he shoots, he scores! Why are you still reading this. The salvage is hanging ripe like fruit on the vine!

Amarr missions are done by people who fly amarr ships and people who are in a corp thats operating there, and shunned by everyone else. It's a damage type thing.
I was surprised there weren't more ninja salvagers before the rig changes: salvage was very valuable back then. Now, however, salvage prices have crashed so hard that most missions are no longer worth salvaging (and those that are, its as much or more about the loot drops than the salvage).
Of course, people not caring much anymore might make your job easier I guess, if less profitable per mission found.

Can't comment on how salvage prices used to be, but things are still pretty peachy for me compared to other professions. Of course much of the draw of Penirgman is because of the Sansha pirates and the fact that there's not a lot of competition for their excellent salvage drops (other than the pokey MRs in their salvage dessys). Don't get me wrong, Angels and Bloods are good times as well, but the hubs where one would go to exploit them are already quite full of young ninjas. Caldaris space is pretty depressing even though the least proficient ninja can find countless MR hits to check out. You just seem to run into far too many Gurista, Drones, and Mission Generics.

Any ninja salvager who really does it for the isk fails at eve. More like they do it because they can nicely combine their desire to extract tears from other people with earning some isk. And if you are reading this, you have arrived at the signature without noticing...

Anyone who doesn't understand how profitable Ninja Salvaging is for beginning characters fails at a basic understanding of EVE economics. Sure, a 10 mil SP character probably has better options, but for those new players who refuse to go through the mind-numbing boredom of Lv 1 mission grinding or newbie mining in your Bantam, there is no better way to make a pile of ISK when you're relatively young.

Penirgman is OK for ninjaing. I started there. Got my scanning skills to lvl 4's there. And then found there are times that there just aren't enough missioners to make it uber profitable.
Any pro-ninja will learn and make extensive use of the map to find the hot spots cross-referencing eve-agents.org. When you figure out what to look for then it'll be easy to find the uber profitable systems.

As a mission runner in penirgman, I have been disheartened by the number of non-english speaking ninja salvagers that have invaded my missions. Don't get me wrong, I'm an equal opportunity salvage provider. The problem is that they always reject my convos and fleet invitations. Here I am, looking for someone to chat to, and am even willing to give them risk free loot, the ability to use tractor beams on my loot and even some free bounties - yet they coldly ignore me due to the language barrier.
This is most distressing indeed.
---------- There is always a choice. The choice might not be easy, nor simple, nor the options be what you desire - but, nevertheless, the choice is there to be made. |
