Hi, I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. I have 4 gigs of ram, an AMD Athlon 7750 dual processor at 2.70 ghz, and a Raedeon HD 4870 512 mb graphics card. So I know its not a hardware issue.
On my other hard drive I have XP 32 bit, where eve runs flawlessly, with loads of fps to spare and the graphics settings turned all the way up. On my new hard drive and Windows 7 64 bit os, however, my framerate is fourthed at the same settings. If I put on HDR Enabled, it becomes virtually unplayable.
I know there isn't a version of eve specifically for 64 bit, but all my other programs and games function better with 7, and its a pain in the ass to go through bios every time I want to switch to my other hard drive.
Is there nothing I can do? Please help!

There is no need for a 64bit version.
If you are using the 9.10/9.9 Catalyst drivers try downgrading to the 9.8 version on Vista/Win7. Also turn off every advanced effect being applied in the CCC and then clear the cache in EVE. ------------------------------------- Don't click the links or even the forum topics. |

It says my Catalyst Version is 09.7. My radeon driver version is 8.632.1.2000. I'll try to turn off all the advanced effects in CCC, but how do I clear the eve cache?

ESC -> Reset Settings -> Clear the Cache. Though you don't really need to do it if the problem is fixed, it was jsut to complete the fix. ------------------------------------- Don't click the links or even the forum topics. |

I'm experiencing same problem: new pc + win 7 = crappy fps in EVE.
New system = 64 bit windows 7 home edition, GeForce 9100, AMD Athlon X4 620 processor at 2.6 ghz, 6 gigs of RAM, this is a new pc fresh from the box two hours ago (and also fresh EVE client.) Everything else seems fine, and EVE plays correctly, except that the framerate has dropped through the floor.
Anyone have suggestions? Even lowering the graphics to the bare minimum doesn't really help, and yes, I'm using Gamebooster.

There is a issue. Never use a program which says it will improve performance. They never do. ------------------------------------- Don't click the links or even the forum topics. |

I found a workaround that helped me. It got me an FPS of 200 with one account and 40 with six accounts.
- Go into the escape menu under the Display & Graphics tab
- Check the Advanced Settings box
- The bottom setting, Preset Interval, should be set to Interval Immediate
Please post if this worked for you. You may also want to post a bug report if you haven't yet.

This is not a 'fix' for FPS issues unless your card gets slightly above 60/75/85 fps and can drop below it and effectively half yor FPS with Interval or as it's more commonly known vertical sync. You do not get 200fps schmitt, you get 200fps but your screen only shows 60/75/85 anyway and you are putting extra stress and work on your GPU and you never see those 200frames unless you buy a CRT screen.

I've been running 3 eve accounts on Windows 7 Ultimate 64Bit OS for a long time now, since beta. Works fine with me, all details maxed out, eve clients run on windowed mode gamerig specs: Amd Phenom II x4 965 3.4Ghz 4Gb ram 1066 DDR Ati Radeon HD 4870 1GB MSI K9A2N Platinum v2 Windows 7 Ultimate 64Bit
Never had any problems with eve. FPS 60~ on all clients, on large fleetbattles I drop the details on that client. Roses are #FF0000, Violets are ##0000FF, all my base are belong to you... |

It fixed my 10FPS crawl something useful on Win 7. I wanted to see if it helped anyone else like it did for me.

I have windows 7 64-bit aswell, only issue I have with eve is when I first launch the client, it lags horribly for about 30 seconds, then its fine.

You do only æseeÆ what your display can reproduce, but the responsiveness is higher, without choking the gfx card and demanding that it conforms.
They have bitter personalities, gfx cards, and itÆs best to let them run free IMHO.
