It's appraoch not ram at full speed.
PLS make the ships slow and stop near what they are approaching. They should stay within 1500m unless they are appraoching with an active MWD :)

lol true. I always hit "stop ship" at ~2500-3000m, otherwise the above happens. Sure, you get used to it, but it shouldn't be like this anyway. |

And keep at range-500m still doesn't keep you from hitting the person.
While we're at it, do we really need a keep at range 100m, 250m and 500m?
How about a 100m, 500m, 1km as default?

an indi is more than 1k around ( you can't get closer). It may not list that but if you fly closer then 1k it moves out of your way, or you get hung on it.
I'd like to see 1k 5k 10k anything less than 1k is pointless

keep in mind that ion cannons (frigate guns, in particular) have an optimum range of abotu 600m, before they're loading with AM s ammo.

The obvious solution is to have a custom set "keep range". That way all players can set that to their optimum range or whatever they like.

That was exactly what I was going to suggest. See how obvious that is. Personally, I'd like a keep at range 20km because that's the range I fight at.
Sometimes orbit at 20km pops up but not always.
