I'm talking about missioning here. Is it better than a Raven(shouls it be?) I here alot of talk about Nightmare's and Raven's but I don't really here too much in comparrison about the NH when it comes to missions. here is the fit I use.
High - HML's Tech 2 (fury missiles)
Med - LSEx2, Rat spec amps x2 Invul x1 (all tech 2)
Low - BSCx3, SPR x2 (all tech 2)
In Caldari space the rat amps I use are 1x magnetic and 1 x Kinetic and that does me for any missions. Is there something wrong with my setup ?
I have maxed my skills with this ship but now I am think of training for the Golem I just feel I should be gettin more out of my NH in missions. It just seems like a lukewarm ship not realy suited to missioning or am I ust expecting to much ? oh what would you do to improve my setup?

It did better back when it had the precision bonus instead of the explosion velocity, but it still beats the raven easily.
The nighthawk is a mission ship that can be used almost afk, but to really shine and get en par with a CNR for example you have to make use of the little things - like the improved ROF of heavy missile launchers allowing a faster target switch when you just "know" the rat is finished with the missiles flying .. also distributing targets is a valid tactic, since the nighthawk mincemeats the smaller stuff just so much better.

For missions it's handy if you have a lot of non battleship npcs to kill (which is a lot of level 4s). It can also tank level 5s.
For the people complaining about powergrid, you should be fitting assault missile launchers with a ganglink, buffering it and killing tacklers/support ships (prefferably at ranged). It is a Caldari boat after all.

Be sure to add a drone link augmentor to your high slot and make sure your not using fury ammo on frigs. With only 2 SPR's you should be able to trade the 2 amps for hardners and still perma run your stuff. And don't forget that if a BS is giving you a hard time then take your drones off the frigs and put them on the BS.
The more I think about it I think I have 2 extenders, 2 invl fields, and a sheild recharger for my mids. Will have to check when I get home

In short, for level 4 mission performance... Drake < Raven < Nighthawk < Tengu < Navy Raven < Golem
ALl that said, it comes down to what missions you're running. The Drake can be faster than the Raven, the Nighthawk can be slower than it. The Tengu will be the fastest ship there is on missions where it excels(albeit few).
However, even within this range there are questions to be had. You don't mention what rigs you're using, while I'd like to presume you're using Rigors you may very well be using purgers. How come you're not fielding any afterburner, even though your main advantage over most of the other mission ships is your relative speed? How come you're only fielding 3 bcus, and only tech 2 on top of that?
Basically, you should be able to drastically improve your mission income drastically by giving up the idea of being able to tank as much as possible and instead focusing on tanking 'enough' while dashing out as much as possible. Every single slot spent on tank, is one way or another lost gank. That goes for capacitor modules, it goes for armor tanks, it goes for shield tank. It goes for rig slots. Parrots, commence!
