Ok, my friend has a corp that he started with his alts. I run run missions for reseach corps to increase standings for his corp so him and his alts can access research agents. Heres my question/problem....
Ore Farmer(my toon) Toon A1 (CEO of friends corp) Toon A2 (Alt of Toon A1) Toon A3 (Alt of Toon A1 as well)
Ore Farmer fleets with Toon A1 and runs missions for LaiDai for example. Lets say standing for Toon A1 toward Lai Dai is 1.00 after missions and can access agent X5. Eventhough Toon A1 can access the agent, toons A2, A3, onward cant. The only character in my friends corp that has run missions at all is Toon A1. When I check standings of my friends corp with Ore Farmer...it shows the standing of my friends corp and Lai Dai at 1.00. When I check the agent requirements, it'll say personal, CORP, or faction standing requirement have to be 1.00. So, if my friends corp has 1.00 standing with Lai Dai, why cant his alts access that agent? Please help???

Personal - Between the toon and the agent. Corp - Between the toon and the npc corporation. Faction - Between the toon and the npc faction.
Notice how it all relates to the TOON and not corp to agent/corp/faction standings. That should answer your question.
My opinions belong to me, you can't have them!

Forgot one thing... Sorry.
If you fleet up and share standings with someone they gain half of what you would have gained if you didn't share. They can personally (the toon) gain standings just by you running missions. That means, if you fleet with their entire corp you can provide the standings they need.
But the player corp to npc corp standings does not give one access to agents. However you can use the player corp standings to npc corps for clones and when it comes to faction standings... Hi-sec poses! Possibly more benefits but can't recall right now.

does splitting the standing gain work linearly? Is the standing actually split into 3 parts if there are 3 people in the fleet, and 5 parts when there are 5? OHGODS BELOW THIS LINE IS MY SIG !!!! SRSLY! Blane Xero > Lance is at -0.9 sec status with a 1 million bounty. Lance is also amarrian. Thats 3 evil points |

And if I run missions for a specific agent (or two in the same station) will my playercorp standing increase for the NPC corp I'm running missions for? And will my faction>playercorp as well? Or does that require the every-16-missions missions you get? Or some other weird mechanic I'm not aware of?
I'm trying to make the 0.5 required for my corp to join the militia, but I'm not even getting any standings at all even for the corp I'm running missions for.

The mission has a base standing increase, lets say for the sake of the example here that the base standing increase is 12%. (Yes, they are percents)
If you have 3 people in your fleet that percentage is divided equally amongst them. 12% / 3 = 4% If you have 4 people in your fleet then the result is 12% / 4 = 3% so yes, it divides evenly.
Now, if one of those 3 fleet members have social trained to level 4, that would mean he gets the 4% and then get the social skill applied. The formula is as follows:
EFFECTIVE_PERCENT_GAIN = BASE_PERCENT_GAIN * (1 + (0.05 * SOCIAL_LEVEL))
or
0.04 * (1 + (0.05 * 4)) = 0.048
or
4.8% gain.
So if you see that you gain more than your fleet buddies it's most likely because you have a higher skill level in social.

The player corp standings are calculated at downtime and is the average of all pilots in the corp.
So if you, Alezander Jagen, has a NPC corp standing of 5.0 and one other member has a NPC corp standing of 7.0 and the third have it at 1.0 the actual corp standing is (5 + 7 + 1) / 3 = 4.33 actual NPC to player corp standing.
Note that players who have NO entry in their standings towards a certain corp isn't counted in this calculation. Just open your corporation window and click the politics tab, then the standings sub tab and "liked by". Find the NPC corp you want to check and right click and "show compositions". It will show you a list of every player that contributes to the corp standings.
Also note that new members of the corp will not account for this standing until after their 7th day in the corp after downtime.

Finally, something else i forgot to mention for this thread. It is impossible to share faction standing increases with your fleet.
My opinions belong to me, you can't have them!

Edited by: AlphaJuliet on 01/11/2009 06:09:51 Ah. That explains it. Even with a minimal standing on the other member (my alt), the corp isn't even a week old yet. I'll check it in a day or two when it is then.
Whoops! AlphaJuliet = Alezander Jagen (but is not the alt)
