Do level 4 mission rats drop faction loot? or are these only from 0.0 rats? Ive been ratting in 0.0 for some time and no faction loot has dropped from battleships or other i have killed, and i have killed many, many of them.
Has the faction loot drop rate been nerfed? |

Some NPC's drop faction loot but it's very rare also some structures may drop them
I'm not gonna say this is 100% accurate but it's a very complete guide and very good to start Eve survival

faction spawns CAN drop faction modules.
Normal rats don't
So you need to be lucky to have a faction spawn in null-sec to get faction drops.
Missions however have a fixed chance, look at eve-survival for that. Inject your skillbook before you leave the station. Neo didnGÇÖt learn Kung-Fu by having it sit in his usb drive.-á If it moves, shoot it. If it doesn't move, poke it with your gun and then shoot it. Only 2 missions currently have a chance to spawn a faction ship...which, in turn, has a chance to drop faction loot. Those are L4 "Worlds Collide" and "The Blockade".
Worlds Collide: In the 2nd room in either direction, there is always a "_________ Supervisor". This is the faction spawn, it will always be there, but it will not always have faction loot. Look at the bounty on the vessel, if it is over 1M isk, it has a chance to drop faction. The higher the bounty, the higher the chance. At 5M+ isk bounty, it is a near certainty that it will drop faction, but it may be nothing more than ammo. Another way to tell is to check what the wreck is called. When destroyed, if the wreck is called "________ Baron", there is faction in there.
Blockade: Rare spawn. I believe it is called "__________ Baron" or "___________ Overseer". Not guaranteed faction loot, only a chance to drop, but, in my experience, the bounty on this vessel is always fairly good. |

Generally speaking, you'll only see faction loot in exploration sites with a DED rating (1/10, 2/10, etc). As noted one post up, there are two exceptions but they're extremely low probability, low enough that probably the databases are just glitchy or someone put in bad data. |

Faction loot comes from faction rats. Faction rats comes in two flavours :
Commanders - their names have those prefixes : Dread Guristas Shadow Serpentis True Sansha Dark Blood Domination
You can get commanders in asteroid belts, anomalies ( final spawn ), unrated complexes and expeditions from unrated complexes. I also heard that they can spawn in some combat ladar sites in null . I cannot confirm that however. Some commanders in unrated complexes might have different name ( in Serpentis Annex for instance )
in hisec you can get : frigates destroyers cruisers in lowsec you can get : cruisers battlecruisers battleships ( Annex unrated complex ) in nullsec you can get : battlecruisers battleships ( never saw cruisers here )
Overseers - those have special names like : "Serpati Family Enforcer" or "Phi Operation Protector" etc. They spawn in rated complexes ( DED1 - DED10 ), "fake" DED6 complexes ( for Serpentis and Angel pirates ) and in the final part of expeditions. Overseers drop DEADSPACE loot mostly but they can also drop faction sometimes. |

i am actually curious about this myself, im looking into exploration and im wondering if its posible toget faction loot without having to go into a wormhole and just do it from the sites you can find? is it possible to find blue prints of pirate NPC ships? or do you only get those from running pirate missions like you would from the LP store in safe space? |

Faction/Deadspace loot has nothing to do with wormhole systems. You can get all of those mods from k-space ( hi-sec, low-sec, null-sec ).
Pirate ship blueprints may be dropped by faction rats and overseers. Chances of getting those BPCs from faction rats are very low however. You have better chances of getting those blueprints from overseer rats/structures in rated exploration complexes ( DED1-DED10 ). Pirate frigates BPCs can be found in hi-sec, cruisers in low-sec and battleships in null-sec.
Every time you kill faction rat it can drop some faction mods, pirate blueprints and pirate implants ( Snakes, Crystals etc. ) Every time you kill overseer rat or destroy overseer structure it can drop faction loot, blueprints and deadspace loot.
Salvaging faction rats and overseers can yield T2 salvage components ( some of those are very pricey ).
Deadspace loot is generally much better than faction loot. Some mods don't have deadspace version ( like damage mods for instance ). |
