For running agent combat missions, I'm currently using a Caracal. I'll take the Rupture out of the hangar once I have a few skills up a few levels and see what kind of damage I can do with that ship. I expect good things -In space, no one can hear you whine |

I tried to use my Stabber as a super frigate with four 425s and it got badly owned. Not matter how fast, the ship can't get rid of its cruiser sig radius, which means it's going to get hit no matter what.
I have much better luck using the Stabber as a semi sniper with 4 named 650s, covered by a couple of missile launchers. The 650s have certainly improved over time as part of the patching process.
As a courier ship, I suggest another minmatar ship, and a very inexpensive one---the Probe. With 2 Partial Hull Expanders, you're looking at a ship with a capacity nearly 600m3. All this with a base speed of 373m/s with Nav 5, and flies once an MWD is fitted.
If you load an Omen or an Augoror with named expanders, you can easily get over 1000m3.

i agree with the probe as a cargo runner
i use them alot, they are cheap to use, setup i use is
1x named 1mn MWD, 1 named small cap battery 2x cargo expander1's
i can run the MWD forever with that setup, it travels at over 1600m/s and has an increditable accelation rate i can get though a warp gate in less than 7 sec's with that setup, maybe even faster once i train up some more skills
this post was funded by Quafe now available in minmatar red. try our new product. Quafe's caldari version "press missiles 4TW" limited sales offer before the next universal improvement |

Edited by: Imhotep Khem on 05/11/2004 13:11:20 I been using a lot of 425mm on my Minmatar Cruisers lately. They track well and have a DOT fo_yo_candy_ass_b-ach.
With only 3 low slots, its kinda hard to fathom armor tanking, but I only have engineering 4.
my setup
H 4x425mm Autocannons 2xAssault launchers or rocket launchers. (I think assault) M 1xMWD 1xMedium Shield Booster 1xWebbifier or Shield Boost Amplifier (bigger rats use the SBA) L 1xGyrostabilizer 2xPDS or whatever
You should not mix long and short guns on the same ship. That guarantees you can only ever be 50% effective. Dont mix heavy launchers with short range guns.
I have found that the 720s dont have enough DOT for pvp battle on a Rupture. So I shifted my Rupture to a 425mm armor tanker. The 720s are for the Tempest ____ If your not dyin' your not tryin'. |

For the grid - you should use 220's and Rocket Launchers... That way you have all the room that you need for your mids/lows.
Slithereen - Weirda have no idea what you doing wrong... but maybe if not mentioned before - ONLY use the MWD for approach (if you are ORBITTING at any distance from frigs with that MWD on - they are going to deal a LOT more damage to you then you dealing to them). Weirda usually switch it off around 10-15km and coast in the rest of the way... Also, Weirda don't orbit, but usually just approach or 'keep at range 1000m'. By the time anywhere close to that, cruisers or frigates are ALWAYS dead and am already approaching the next one. Again for you too - would recommend the 220s over the 425s on the Stabber. You just don't have enough grid to play around with on that thing if you want to put good stuff in your lows. -- Thread Killer

Edited by: Sir Wakka on 06/11/2004 02:51:37 Edited by: Sir Wakka on 06/11/2004 02:50:18 I'll throw my stabber setup into the fray aswell. I use this setup to own all level 2 kill missions. Have not tried it on lvl 3 missions or cruiser spawns yet.
Hi slots 4*Dual 180mm Autocannons with EMP M (Fantastic Tracking - can hit rats at 9km down to 3km orbiting) 2 Heavy Launchers (Thunderbolt and Havoc) - Both on Manual Activation (One Thunder and Havoc in order lay waste to any rat below 7k bounty or seriously cripple a larger frigate.
Mid slots 2 Cap Recharger I's Passive Thermal Shield Hardener (i kill guristas)
Low Slots Medium Armor Repairer Cap Power Relay Gyrostabilizer
I know, why have a passive shield hardener when i armor tank. But that hardener increases the duration of my shield and makes it last that little bit longer while im splatting rats. Just to fill the slot really. I dont need AB or MWD as i never move from the warp in point, i just sit there and lay waste to everything.
The Armor Repairer can be run indefinately, or at least the duration of the battle, since ive had it running non stop through a lvl 2 gone beserk mission and still had plenty of cap. Even the dread guristas Demolisher supported by a despoiler cant out damage my tank. I end up testing this out on low bounty crusiers one day but im about to upgrade to an armor tanked rupture soon, once i have the skills to use armor hardeners etc.. but i might keep a similar setup, or change to a 4*650mm sniper and run lvl 3 missions.

Using a stabber for lvl 2 kills is like swatting a fly with a m60.
Just get a rifter and get them done in two thirds of the time.
