Love the new feature of bulletins in the home page of the corp menu. Its not a corp message of the day but I love it. If God was a number he would be over 9,000!!!!!!!!! |

Posting dev blogs on new sov mechanics would be an improvement

Agreed with the OP.
Quoting myself from another thread:
Originally by: "Arkady Sadik" I just saw the corp/alliance bulletins - awesome, thank you, that solves the problem I mentioned earlier!
I could not test whether those trigger some kind of flashy highlight, but if new bulletins either make the corp window button flash (like the mail button) or if they trigger one of those shiny notifications in the mailbox, awesome.
One request there: Would it be possible to allow corp members (executor corp members) with the "Communications Officer" role to post/edit/delete bulletins?
And thanks for taking the feedback on corp/alliance mail usability reduction serious and providing such a great fix so quickly :-)

Thank you for your feedback. We will change the role to "communications officer". I'm not sure what we can do with flashing for the Dominion expansion but I'll pass it along.

Woot hearing Feedback FTW. Thanks for listening to our previous rants guys. I will grab full roles on Sisi from my CEO tonight and get you some more Feedback on how well it works.
Good stuff!

I an wondering what the Bulletins will add that the corp and alliance mails don't already provide.
I know that it is hard enough already to get corp members to read corp mails and do something about them, and regular members hardly have any need to access the corp interface, so I expect that posted bulletins will be largely ignored by the general members.
Adding Corp chat MOTD and Alliance chat MOTD would be so much more useful I think.
It a nice feature, that wasn't really needed and imo doesn't affect the vast majority of players in any real way, just like corp medals were a year ago...

Bulletins will add ability to announce OPs, wars, w/e you feel like in a way that everyone can easily find and read. Emails on the other hand are far and by often spammed by idiotic alliance members so not everyone will read each one right away. Bulletins will allow for important messages to get out in a way that can't be spammed.
I LOVE this as I always felt something like this was needed.

If you hadn't followed, the new mail system basically invalidates using the Corp and aliance system as they work in Apoc. New members wont see old mails (about Voice com details, regular ops, protocols, etc). Also you can delete Alliance/corp mails from your own inbox, just like real email. So the bullitin system is a response to us saying we want that feature/function. (woot for CCP reading Feedback)
Except now it's WAY more controllable than corp Evemail (No more winges from CEOs that you should "Never" reply in corp/alliance and having to delete overflowing mess regularly).
I do note though, this is only a corp thing atm. I'm also struggling to see how, technically this could be scaled to alliance. As roles are Corp only, and there isnt a UI space for alliance stuff
But I still REALLY appreciate the Dev response.

So far the limit of open bulletins is 10. Bulletins can have linked fittings in them. A linked fit has a limit of 14 in each bulletin.
You can link a fleet from fleet finder in them.
One of my wishlist would be for a FC to link somehow his overview settings and tabs thru a bulleting or an evemail. That would be 100% win right there. If God was a number he would be over 9,000!!!!!!!!! |

The bulletins are great. It would be helpful if the corp could set them to auto-open for each member once they log in as a way to push the info in their face (basically like a channel MOTD).

Re Overview: I suppose you (FC) could export your Overview and upload it to a web server. Link the web address in the Bullitin. With the new Browser this may work well. It wouldn't be uber smooth, but it would work consistently for each and every player.
I agree some/any method of making new Bulitins notify or behave a little like a MOTD (optionally or not, not sure) would be good. "Blinking" popup, something else inventive and technically easy?

Thats one way to do it but my expectations on the new system is location of information to bring everyone in the corp on the same page. The corp evemail system is what we have been using for a while and has its limitations. Things get buried with more the informative player post. This new feature eliminates that.
Why not throw ideas out there while the code is fresh in the devs head either they do it or they dont. Throwing ideas out instead of staying quiet and dealing with the what we hear is what we get never leads to better functionality.
Another idea that has come to mind is time sensitive bulletins that will auto delete when the time runs out.
Bump up the max of bulletins from 10 to 20 or if not this at least increase the max character limit. If God was a number he would be over 9,000!!!!!!!!! |

Corp window, alliances tab has a "bulletins" tab.
I assume an executor corp director (and hopefully, soon "communications officer") can work with those.

It seems like CEO of any corporation in alliance can post to Alliance bulletin now.
At least I can :) and my corporation is not the executor.

Ok, I admit I may have been quick to dismiss the Bulletins as pointless. I was unaware that old corp / alliance mails will not be "sent" to new members.
I just wonder if the corp interface is the place to put these Bulletins?
A corp member at the "grunt" level within the corp's organization, does not need to access the corp interface for anything really. I am affraid that these bulletins will be very easily overlooked, just like many members don't bother to read corp (let alone alliance) forums.
Would it not make sense to locate the bulletins under the eve-mail neocom button as well?

Very good point. I have noticed this issue all too often with new players or even normal pilots in a corp; they overlook critical details. Adding this feature as a tab in the neocom would be a good idea.
