don't really care for an ab bonus because ultimately it's still going to be slower and frankly even worse than now. (Also, the fact that ABs need a bonus to be a somewhat useful mod outside of pve means more of a problem with the mod)
Main problem with gun hacs was/is that 4 turret zealot was completely balanced vs muninn and deimos. (go on, check eft) add another turret, and it outshines both.
The CCP solution would be to add another turret to muninn and deimos (and eagle), hopefully with fitting to use it. I can't say I like this solution the best, though i wouldn't mind at any rate, but it seems like a bit of a cop-out.
Moving a high to either a mid or low on muninn would also be good. Also, change the falloff bonus to either an optimal or tracking bonus on deimos. It would really be better if they just gave blasters an overall tracking buff rather than rely on ship bonuses.
Main flaw with blaster boats is they take far too long to get in range, especially on the heavy ships like BS and BCs. By the time you get in range against let's say a plated amarr ship you've already lost more armour than you would make up with your superior dps on him. Assuming you've managed to shoehorn a somewhat comparable active tank on your ship. General rule nowadays is that tanking anything for a significant amount of time is impossible, and generally given the
Clever fix would be some way to do a bum rush "ability" in the blaster boats: very high speed (call it 2x), **** agility (i hope nothing is in the way...) though good acceleration for one-two MWD cycles. Un-interuptable by scrambler, or, the scrambler cancels the "ability" but not mwd until 5 seconds later when the scrambler cycles again. Basically... get in range faster. Can't do it again for 30-60seconds or something idk.
All it takes is one frig with scram which you can't kill due to web nerf and the various drone nerfs and you're sat dieing 15km from the nearest thing you'd actually be able to shoot at.
A raw dps buff would help a little as far as anti-homogenization goes but it's not addressing the main problem.
