You guys represent everything Eve shouldnt be about. Massive Nap-lists, incompetent Pets blocking space for Alliances who could actually achieve something in 0.0, and the constant blobbing of everything that moves ruining every chance for fun PVP. The Day that hellhole you created up there in the north burns to the ground will be a good day for Eve. Because you bring nothing to eve but stagnation. inb4 post with your main, u mad?, bitter troll detected - try to flame me with something original.

But the fact that you are the foundation of that terrible disease that has paralyzed such a huge part of the universe is nothing to be proud of. I dislike the Napfests in the South and East for the same reasons, but at least in the south theres still some shifting in powers and actuall chances for fun pvp. The Dronerussians might probably be even worse than the north, but the east was never really interesting, and the russians keep mostly for themselves. But the NC, dear god, you represent everything even CCP tried (and will probably fail) to nerf with Dominion. How any member of the NC who is actualy interested in a fun PVP-environment can log in everyday and see the political decisions of the NC-HC as productive is beyond me.

If you want to convince somebody, I recommend starting by explaining why carebears should be more interested in pvp than in keeping their space. People would be interested in that. Also, I would like to know who all these totally-going-places alliances are that want to move to 0.0 but couldn't be arsed to take out UFA, dara cothrom or kraftwerk when they had the chance.

Kay, the problem we're running into here is that I'm arguing for what should be the case based on what works, and you're arguing for an idea of what the game should be like based on what you think would be more fun. Coalitions work for the people in them. I'm pretty happy knowing that if the russians make a serious play for our space they will be thwarted by an all-consuming capital blob. And knowing that our good brosefs will come to our defence, I will cheerfully risk significant personal assets in the defence of other coalition members. This is emergent behavior, which is a large part of what makes eve great. The trouble with this is that it would tend to lead toward a single blob that owns all of 0.0, which I think this is where your complaint is coming from (ignoring the peculiar focus on renters), and I can agree that it would be no fun at all. My position will have to be that as long as there are opposing forces that are more or less balanced, and people who want to come to 0.0 can (as renters or pets if necessary), I'm okay with the state of the game. Now, I sort of care about not losing my space, so the NC breaking up with that russian coalition on my alliance's doorstep isn't something I really feel enthusiastic about, and I imagine other coalition members feel the same way. It seems to me that the onus is on you to come up with an argument that will convince them to break up -- and I don't think saying that the game would be more fun your way is going to cut it. My point is that nobody from empire bothered to kill them; and if nobody wants space badly enough to fight small alliances with no allies for it then your point may very well be invalid.

It's obvious it works for people in a Coalition, in the matter of making the Space save and preventing invasions unless the Invader can counter the Numbers of the Coalition. My point is the massive Napfests have made the political Landscape stagnant. All powerblocks are defensive, enforcing a status quo. Major changes and actual political and social evolution are made impossible. The last big powerblock that projected its power in offensive and aggressive Campaigns was the GBC, and it failed, but before it died it made some evolution in parts of the North (especially Deklein) possible. I already pointed out i dislike the other Powerblocks as well, but there are actual hopes the South could make expansionistic moves after dominion though. The NC is special in its way for controling a insanely huge part of space thanks to a chain of several incompetent Renters and Pets none of the other blocks can match, and curbstomping even the smallest opposition through sheer numbers (the latest examples being Circle of Two, White Noise, and Evoke), basically doing everything to keep as much space as possible, in a game revolving around PVP and Warfare, largely PVP-free. I think this is sad, and i think every community needs constant evolution and proactivity, not stagnation. Seeing the statements of CCP during the last Fanfest, even they seem to have understood this, and are making steps to enforce a balkanization of 0.0. I doubt it will work in the way they think it will, but we'll see. As long of the the majority of the playerbase that forms the NC sees the priority in keeping space instead of engaging in challenging warfare, nothing will change of course. Personally, i see PVP as the driving force of EVE, obviously. The economy generates Money to finance PVP. The ability to claim sovereignity in 0.0 was designed to give alliances a motivation to fight for it. The obvious intention was to give players a huge Battlefield in 0.0, and a motivation for constant competition. I dont see any of this in the current political Landscape, only thousands of players who imprisoned themselves into massive Powerblocks, to fearfull to engange into any meaningfull competition bigger than small skirmishes.
