Okay I'm now able to pilot an orca there's just one problem: I can't afford it. Nor will I be able to in the near future.
So I have a providence that I use for transporting ore from my home system to a better place to sell.
My question is if I sell the Providence how much ore can the Orca hold using GSC's and the like? Would it be a safe trade off?

If you just want it for hauling ore, then no. If you want it for mining ops and the like then obviously the orca beats the providence :)

*shrug* I don't really *need* a ship that can move 800k m3 of ore, its convenient but with the orca and transport ships on my alts it can be managed. I'm just tryin to figure out how much the orca CAN hold at maximum.

30 x 900m3 = 27,000 additional m3
Although the truly cargo maxed Orca will carry more than that... although whether you want to invest in 2 x T2 Cargo Optimisations is another matter. --
