Now it may be that EVE-Online has set a standard that no other game can match but have any EVE players tried Vendetta Online? And not burst out laughing?
It has to be the worst most dated looking MMORPG I have seen like ever 
Im all for independant developers but this is soooooo bad. |

Its not important how it looks, but how it plays. I'd rather play a game that looked dated and was fun, that looked cool and was boring 
Have you actually played it for any length of time?

Yeah I played it for around 15 mins I think and trust me it seemed an eternity.
Its one of those games that no matter how well it played its just to ugly to live.

i played it allitle did some missions and killed som bots, And then went out in the unclaimed space to kill some players ore something in the end of the trial. Dunno what happent tho found some ships and killed like 2 and then i got killed on like 1 shots. And not a by a player it seems.
I didnt finde to mutch fun tbh played meabe 3 hours.
Can guild build bases and stuff in the unclaimed area ?
what content dose the game have atm ?, i heard you couldnt even mine yet. |

tried this out last night.
Seems really smooth adn everything, the graphics are ok. i hate the in station UI and the hud looks very very simple.
its a shame because the models are quite good and theyve just slapped on some '90s amiga flightsim ui, and it looks ghey.
could be really promising though, if more people played it and there was actually production abilities.
it IS still a beta i believe, but the ui isnt even close to anything i like, or consider usable, so it would take a complete re-design for me to get drawn in to it.
also the ships look boring as hell, like no thought has gone into them.
Fair play to the guys who made it though, 3 platforms... nice.

I didn't last long in vendetta online either. I thought it was just another jumpgate, it seemed like I was playing a game by myself.
The best thing about eve is not the graphics or the sound or the ship selection... it's the chat interface. In Jumpgate and Vendetta at times it felt like you were the only one online, sure the chat window would scroll once in a while, but to you it was nothign more than a voice from beyond. In Eve you can see who is in the same system as you and you know somethings going down when too many are there and then it feels like an mmorpg and something you could not experience in any single player game. I played lineage 2 for a while and that you knew was multiplayer because there were so many people around you, eve you have local to tell you when there are a lot of people around, the other mmo's I've played just seem like you're all alone, and if they don't seem like your all alone it seems like you may as well be.

seeing as its been created by 4 guys on a shoestring i think it looks damn good...im sure everyone cares about eve's high res models when fleet combat is 0fps...
its an 'old-fashioned' MMO, its got levelling and lots of it. It also has first person combat that blows eve's combat out of the water. No mining, chance of PvP anywhere (though tough NPC's if you attack in faction territory), Rp'ed war between two of the three factions.
Personally i hope that eve players dont move to vendetta, it might end up being the carebear mining sim eve is atm.
like eve's story is original...

There is Darkspace. It's space, definitely MMO, some RP aspects, but it's more about team and tactical fleet combat than anything.
