Edited by: Klauz Lycan on 10/11/2009 18:17:35 Edited by: Klauz Lycan on 10/11/2009 18:16:48 hello guys im looking for some other ways to make money. right know i tried mining, which is boring as hell. i rather waste my time with anything else but mining. then i tried rating. when i try lowsec rating i normaly get to the point where i get jumped by a gang. and die. and if i go deeper into 0.0 i dont have any docking rights and and i waste to much good loot. and finally i tried mission running. which is also not so challenging. right now im running L3s in my vexor and its also not very entertaining. ( i fall asleep for 2 seconds while doing some easy L3s. true story!) so im quite desprate for some fun way to make isk because im really get bored at it and somehow i really like this game. so how do you get your sweet iskies ? i would be thankful for any suggestions. fly save

If you don't like working with numbers or have an Econ degree, trading's likely not for you. You might look into joining a 0.0 alliance that does lots of combat. ok here we go. that looks interesting too. thanks for the hint.

Whether you find trading fun is up to you. It does not require you to do ridiculous amounts of calculations. I do some trading myself, and I don't spend every minute making calculations. For the lazy (like me), estimations work fine.

Only you can determine what's fun for you. We can only tell you what we consider to be 'fun'. Ninja salvaging probably offers the most variety since you'll be dealing with players in semi-PvP. You won't make as much money as running missions or trading, but it might be your cup of tea. Missions and trading are money-earners for sure, but they get pretty boring and tedious after a while. WH exploration is interesting and offers variety as well, but it can be a lot riskier than the other activities, which only means you may be losing money instead of making it (although you may still have 'fun').

Depends. Ninjasalvaging will earn you far more ISK initially. You wont start to eclipse ninjaing until you get to well-fitted battleships and level 4s. However, by the time you get the skills for that, a ninja can start looting missions as well which significantly improves his income, while having a gankship waiting in station to protect himself from the MR.

Recruitment forums are that way ->

well, given that many people make the majority or all of their ISK from it...I'd say it is.

twist the meanings as long as You want. truth is You guys will only last till ccp fixes the problem with ninjaing (which obviously exists). and they will do it, becouse they want paying customers.

There is way bigger chance that CCP make agents which buys MR tears than cutting ninja salvage from game. Woke up.

Been hearing this since ninjaing took off early last year. Nothing has been said from CCP that would indicate that they think there is a problem.

Klauz, you can do fine with your SP ratting in low sec systems.
Find one with a lot of belts next to a high sec system and make sure it has no NPC stations in it. This is the type of system that won't get many people camping in it, unless it's a pipe.
Stick some GSCs in the nearest high sec system if it has no stations.
Get yourself a battle cruiser and fit it with cheap T1 fittings and INSURE it. You will lose at the most a few million ISK when you get blown up, which will happen at least once every few days.
The idea here is to make more than you lose. It's nearly impossible not to make enough to cover your losses if you pay the slightest bit of attention to local.
I did this when I first started and made billions compared to hundreds of millions in losses.
Oh yeah... learn how to not get podded. That is a PITA and eats into your ratting time.
The good thing is that this is a great way to get over the nerves that most newbies have when they first start mixing it up in PVP. Have some fun when you get scrammed. Shoot back. See how long you you last. Watch the tactics these guys use.
You will be a much better pilot for it when you finally decide to head off into the wilds for a little pew pew.

In addition to Mr. Epeen's suggestions, fit your battlecruiser for solo PVP (i.e. fit a web and point, and maybe some form of ewar). A PVP BC is a great lowsec ratting ship, and when you shoot back, you're in a ship intended for the purpose.
But definitely go cheap, because you will lose your ship on a regular basis.

I enjoy living in sleeper land. Running plexes is kinda like doing missions, but the ships are tougher, and you get the added excitement of looking over your shoulder for gankers all the time. The income is good, and you can do it with a well fit BC. Of course it helps to have probing skills, salvage skills, hacking skills, analysing skills, and about every other skill you can imagine, but you can start with less. :)
Find yourself a good wh corp, and live life away from the beaten path. :)

As in real life, money making ain't always fun champ ;) but trading and merching is also a good way. Hmm... But thats how life is ;) join a mining union, then it's a bit less boring xD

You can try ratting in Providence, assuming you haven't managed to annoy the holders by pirating in their space, but they generally welcome neutral pilots who want to PVE and use their stations, and will try to keep pirates out of their space.
This does of course mean that lots of pirates like to come to their space because it's full of targets.

Last evening I made 160 million with my freighter by buying stuff in one place and selling it in another 16 jumps away. Can't say if it was boring, as I was AFK for most of it.
I expect to make 440 million this evening (found something needing far fewer jumps).
There is an endless supply of stuff that needs to be hauled in EVE.

try cosmos missions. in each empire there is one constellation with cosmos agents. they are sometimes quite challenging and can be fun. beswt way to make isk is probably trading but u need some basecapital for that.

One of the things about making isk being a pain in the bum is it makes the game mean something - it hurts when you loose your 1st T2 cruiser for example.
I find variety really helps prevent boredom and increase profit, eg:
If i'm going to manufacture stuff i'll do a stint of trading 1st to get the best material prices and make some isk.
If i'm going out to 0.0 and will be living off rats (and gaining sec status) then i'll do a stint of suicide ganking and then sit at a low sec entry point in a snipe eagle or smartie BS before heading to 0.0.
For missions gallente get the worst deal as far as excitement goes because all you do is set drones to aggressive, switch tank on and go afk. Try running low sec lvl 4 missions with a couple of mates in speed tanked T1 cruisers, it's a lot more fun and surprisingly efficient in a good gang.
Get agro in a sensor boosted AB caracal for range / speed tank then add 2 pvp gank thorax for DPS, works a treat and you can add a cloaked blackbird/falcon alt to give pirates a nasty surprise :)
Wormholes offer quite a bit of variety and are worth doing at some point in your eve career.
Overall treat eve like a party with lots of rooms you can wander into and meet new people, making isk is kinda like playing cards - the cards themselves aren't important, it's just something to do while you chat to your mates. _________________________________________________ Lifeboat ----> + Human |

I get the majority of my income from overseers effects in 7-10 complexes out in 0.0 :)
Only 8m skillpoints and i get 30-200+m pr complex we do.. 3-5 people together.
Skills focused in exploration (Cheetah + faction scanning equipment, rigs and decent scanning skills)
And Battlecruiser dps (Hurricane).. doesnt take much :) also got hacking/arc/salvage for the miniproffession sites which are 20-50m each from my experience.. but also requires transfering items (salvage, datacores etc) to highsec to sell..Again the cheetah (cloaked covops) comes in handy :) eventually my 5m sp alt will get going with a cloaked transport ship and do all this for me :)
Got no problem funding my ships etc :) and theres always pvp to be had on the side out in 0.0 if we wish.
