Which route would be better for PvNPC and possible PvP, specializing in autocannons or in artilery?
with recent experinces in shiva, noticed that NPCs close in you fast. My thought is that autocannons would be the way to go. What do others think?

It wouldn't take long to do both? I know it's "specialization" but I could / am doing both and it won't even take long. _________________________________________________________

The simple answer would be whichever you prefer to use.
Beyond that, I wouldn't want to call, as projectiles are likely to be tweaked post shiva, so either could turn out 'better'.

It think the initial small will not take long, but once your up to the large it could take alot of time. Or at least thats what I'm thinking.

Ehm, yes it will, I'd say around 2 weeks unless you already have a lot of the gunnery skills at lvl5.
It'll take 4-5 days to get either M Autocannon or Artillery Spec to lvl4 ready for the Large version. The other skills needed to train the L Spec skills differ though, L Artillery needs Sharpshooter lvl5 (rank 2) whereas L Autocannon needs Motion Prediction lvl5 (rank 2 again). In the long-run though once one is trained you might as well do the other since the bulk of the training has been done.
