I know many of us have multiple accounts however many of us also have multiple characters on each account that perform different functions. Cyno pilots, haulers, neutral scouts, The Forge market checkers etc etc.
I know that this isn't a massive thing but how good would it be to have a button on the escape menu that allows you to go back to the character selection screen without having to close down the whole program and resign in everytime you want / need to change characters.
Am I alone in thinking this would be something alot of us would welcome ?

You was able to do that a couple of years ago.. My guess is that they removed it for a reason... ------ The future, according to some scientists, will be exactly like the past, only far more expensive. John Sladek |

You don't have to close down the whole program.
Click on the Log Off button from the window that comes up when you press the escape key.

Click on the Log Off button from the window that comes up when you press the escape key.
Which ends up closing the whole program and restarting it to the login screen.

And on top of that, logoff only works once, the second time you do that the program just doesnt logoff. I need to quit and restart it to switch back to the original char when i switched once already.

They tried to implement this during beta, but could never get it to work right. Always been this way since release.

This feature did use to exist, but people exploited it to cause the char they are switching FROM to immediately disappear from space.
Such a feature would probably be workable these days, but its a nice to have more than a need.
Originally by: CCP Whisper No it is not an official statement. Not everything surrounded by blue bars is an official statement which can be quoted as fact until the end of time. Deal with it.

That and the crappy coding had tons of issues with sessions and other things going wrong when switching characters. Similar as having to pause your training while inserting implants since that used to mess things up as well. If they would re-introduce it now they probably have to rewrite the whole client again.
But these issues show that the architecture and the technical stuff behind it are limiting them from designing more intuitive options.
For instance you have 3 characters on each account but can only train one. What if you could play all 3 of them at the same time? Not that it makes sense but it would be technically impossible to implement this ever without rewriting the whole shebang.

It would be epic if they let you control multiple characters simultaneously in 1 client when they add mutiple monitor support...
