Damage is leeking into armor with 20% shields left and same for structure. Damage behaves like it did before the patch that fixed it.

Erm that happens with all the ships, not just assault.
From patchnotes : Damage leaking through armor has been altered so the hull does not start sustaining damage until armor is 25% of maximum hitpoints.
Damage will no longer leak through the hull to modules, this was preventing a ship's destruction when modules were at 0 health.
I don`t think there is any change to dmg leaking through shields/armor besides those two so it`s intended

Just more noticable with assault frigs as you have higher resistance which means you spend reletively more time in less than 20% zone. __________ Capacitor research |

This could be true, but I'm sure it's a bit more drastic than that otherwise I wouldn't have mentioned it. Usualy leekage doesnt start til about 5-10%. Damage is applying to armor/structure with shields/armor near 20%.
I think its a bug.

Actually, I noticed the other day that my retribution had lost a % or two of armour, yet my shield was at 50-60% when I noticed. I thought I was just going mad, but if somebody else has seen something similar, then I'll have to watch more closely from now on.

A few days ago my tristan was hit and went down to 1/4 armor while i still had 75% of my shields.. i wasnt to impressed with that! -------------------------------------------- I've had the same Gurista Imputor on my tail for the past 16 systems..

If I have the equip-mwd-to-repackaged-ship capacitor bug and don't bother docking/relogging, my capacitor will charge naturally and work ok.
Problem is, the first piece of damage to your shields wipes off almost 80% and you get instant-armour bleed through/

What, my shields warped in 30 seconds after me ?
Seriously, I'm more than happy to blame lag for pretty much anything, but I'd love to hear how you explain it for this.

I doubt damage to shield is a simple if sentence in EVE. That is there is no code that says if (shield < 20%). Probably it is just a random variable multiplied by a function so that it barely noticable when shield is above 20% and then more and more damage start "leaking" through.
Since assault frigates have higher resistance than normal frigs the shield and armor goes down more slowly. The opponent then get's more shots at you in the and the more shots the more likely it is that one of them goes through to the next layer.
Does anyone know what the hell I'm talking about? __________ Capacitor research |

The percentage of damage leaked is calculated before resistances are taken into account. Your hull has no resistances and therefore letting your armour get below 25% if you're taking a lot of base damage but have really high armour resistances means that a disproportionately large amount of damage will be dealt to your hull.
Solution? Keep your armour above 25% or your hull might give out before your armour :S.

And train Tactical Shield Manipulation skill, esp. if you're shieldtanking:

Operation of shield hardeners and other advanced shield modules. Bonus: 5% reduced chance of damage penetrating the shield.
